Working with some nice human beings.

Working long hours because of short number of employees

Depends when, where and which co-workers are working with you on the shift. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Helping lots of people as they have no clue what and how to divest at the screening process

My typical day at work was getting to know people and communicate with them.
I learned to enter data in the computer in proper manner with accuracy.
Management was good and helping hand.
Co-workers were team player.
The hardest part of the job was to understand the proper procedure and it took a while.
When I understood the skills and entering the data felt much more comfortable and enjoyable.

Extremely dysfunctional management in 2010-2011. Large turnover of staff a result. Hopefully things have improved for the better.

Great place to work, great mandate. Great health benefits and bonus program. Senior leadership is very accessible. Great social committee with activities. Very focused on diversity and inclusion. 

Managers who are good at what they do are rare. 
High turnover, low pay, no promotion opportunities.
A lot of new hires who have no idea how to do their job.

Interesting and exciting place to work in the heart of Ottawa. Learned many new things regarding border security and what is allowable to be transported in and out of Canada.

Colleagues very dedicated, focussed and accomplished. Ability to actually see the results of one's work in action. Knowledge that one is contributing to public safety.

CATSA is not for everyone. It is getting better but the is still a mentality of power over it's people. Several manager like to tell and degrade employees.

Shifts are very flexible, great co-workers and many shifts to choose from.  Management can sometimes be hard to work with, not alot of room for growth.

Good Pay, stable company built on keeping flying passengers safe.
