DIGITAL ATTRACTIONS

(Review is for the Niagara team, I have no idea how the Toronto team at CN is.) 

The team makes the job here! The people are great and from all different kinds of backgrounds. 

And if you're a great employee, you'll swiftly make it through the ranks. It's not like it takes a lot to be great! Showing up on time, hardly calling in (and they're even very fair regarding that, hardly requesting doctor's notes and not wanting to get sick if you are), seemingly happy and getting people's attention. Sometimes, they'll even be given gift cards. (And little raises, too.) 

This makes for a great College/University experience, as it's a busy summer job and for most employees, seasonal. It goes by quickly in the Summer. 

Summer season is the best time for shifts. Some locations are outdoors, most indoors. All require some amount of people skills (like greeting people, approaching people, informing people) Depending on which position you've applied for, you'll get experience on running credit/debits on point-of-sales, engaging people and working as a team.  If you're taking photos, you'll get some camera experience. If you're printing the photos, you won't really be interacting with people but quickly editing pictures on green screen. 

It can get chaotic. If you thrive on chaos, it's definitely for you. 

This is a fast-paced job in the Summer! 

The only issue that I'm not personally fond of is the inability to sit down frequently. But if you ask a Manager/Supervisor, they'll let you sit for a small time. 

Communication is key at this place and all higher ups tend to be very accommodating as long as things are communicated on time! Because this job is so team focussed, the ability to be prepared/willing to work/be flexible is highly valued for the well-being of the team. 

You also have to work alongside other companies, which requires even greater team work and understanding. 

Most of the places in the Niagara locations are close by to many food places which give employees steep discounts for their lunches.

In short, this job is great for students or people who thrive in fast-paced environment and can really provide valuable skills for future employments.  There's a lot happening around and it's tiring. You can throw in some great exercise, too. 




A typical day at Digital Attractions that is located in Journey Behind the Falls is usually stressful. With the constant worry of our hardware breaking down or people taking photos of the photos that we take of them, it can feel very overwhelming. 
Throughout my summers at Digital Attractions, i've learned many different positions throughout the company. Print, where the editing and printing of the photos take place, FX, where special photos like the barrell shots are done, Cart, where the taking the photos take place. I've done each and every one of these positions, and each position have their own worries to worry about. 
Management at Digital Attractions is poorly done. I don't believe everyone is treated equally there and things should defiantly change. 
Coworkers at Digital Attractions are amazing. Everyone is so laid back, we take our jobs seriously but also have fun doing so. 
I'd have to say the hardest part of the job would be to everywhere at once. Only because everyone comes out of the elevators at once, and it's hard to track everyone and make sure no one takes photos or tries to steal the photos which have been attempted before. 
Lastly, I believe the best part of the job is when I hear how much fun the children and families had while they were down in the tunnels for Behind the Falls. People always come up so happy and they tell the sales representatives how beautiful it was down there and because they're so content they usually buy the photos that we take of them. 
Digital Attractions is a good company to work throughout the summer, but it's time to move on and start somewhere new!

Avoid working for this company!! Management is the absolute worst. The first day working, they trained us for 2 hours then put us on the floor for 2 hours. The manager never checked on us & only gave half the employees a dress code prior. I wasn't one of them. The girl training me told me it's a high turn-around rate then. None of the people I trained with stayed & one of them also got fired. Fast forward I got sick a few times and had to call in. One employee gave me a hard time on this at first too. However management NEVER gave me a talking to and only gave me praise telling me I was doing a good job. I was good at selling the overpriced photos & got along well with my coworkers. After Christmas they held a staff appreciation party which was a lot of fun. My next shift in, I was told not to clock in. They told me they had given me warnings, I wasn't as committed to the position as other staff members, and told me they needed to fire me.. a day before my 3 month probation was up. After telling me how horrible of an employee I was, they offered to potentially give me a job in the summer again when things pick up at the CN Tower. I was speechless at this whole situation. It was extremely unprofessional. Management there is pure lazy & literally gives zero direction. 

I started working for Digital Attractions as a sales associate at the Journey Behind the Falls location for one summer, and continued working for them the following summer as a supervisor at their new locations, the Butterfly Conservatory and White Water Walk. 

Overall my experience working for Digital Attractions was positive and I walked away with many skills that I can apply in my future jobs. I was always treated fairly and with respect by my managers and fellow employees. 

Things that I would say were difficult and challenging about working for DA are the fast paced environment, stressful at times, dealing with tourists and unpredictable, uncomfortable weather circumstances depending on the location. 

If you're looking for a job with good people, shifts that fly by, and an exciting environment, then Digital Attractions is for you.

It is a great place to enhance your communication and teamwork skills, as we manage big crowds of people from all around the world. We are most of the time working under stress and it can become overwhelming; however, it is a fun job if you know how to manage different situations. 
Management and all departments consist on a big group of professional and extremely friendly people, we all work as a unit and get each other's back.
The hardest part of this job is dealing with the overwhelming amounts of people, the weather, and standing most of the time. Nevertheless, you meet people from all around the world, make people laugh and smile, and work with a great team.
This job taught me to be outgoing and always active, improved my communication and teamwork skills, and learned to deal with stress, different problems and situations.

This company works in the tourist district, so be prepared to be thrown into stressful situations. Shifts can start as early as 7:45 am and latest shifts end at 11 pm. Most departments are standing outside, so the heat can get to you. Unfortunately, parking is very limited and hard to find.
A majority of employees are fun to be around, and lots of communication makes everything run smoothly. Management is professional and good at keeping things under control. 
A large portion of employees are students and young adults, so this job is great for people looking for a seasonal (or all year) job. New-comers start with minimum wage and get a raise each year they come back. Management keeps an eye on employees' hard work and they can be promoted if the managers see fit.
Working here is pretty cool because everyone is accepting and easy to get along with.
Bonus if you see some celebrities walking through :)

Excellent pay, worth the high stress environment. Helping coworkers, but terrible manager who went out of his way to make my experience working there abysmal at its best.

Work as a member of printing staff was engaging, and taught me good organizational skills to use in the future.

Workers receive a sizable discount to surrounding concession stands, so food was cheap.

If not for the managerial staff I would recommend this job, and seeing as I worked there in 2009 it is certainly possible that the manager in question has been replaced.

I have worked at the niagara cruise location for the summer. My jobs included selling photos and directing tourists to view their photos. It can be stressful and hot, but the day goes by very fast.

The photos cost a lot and the options to buy are strict so customers can get frustrated, but is easy bc you sell the same package most times


The team mostly students. management was supportive and helpful. 

Unpaid break and parking was far away were not great




Every single day I would come in feeling like trash. They wouldn’t let us sit down, they would constantly yell at us, they would treat us like garbage all the time, and they wouldn’t answer emails at all.I sent an email that I was gonna quit a few days prior, to which they didn’t even see it and respond. They pick favourites and stick with that and give opportunities to people that are at the same level of work as us ( giving select people higher opportunities ). Also tourist sucks, don’t waste your them 

A typical workday at Digital Attractions is long shifts but decent work. 

Management, at least at my location, was both disorganized and overworked. Which I'm sure was extremely frustrating especially in such a fast-paced, tourist-serving environment. And it caused a bit of a toxic work environment because that trickled down to the rest of the team.
