This is a pretty good property management company, especially if you come in with realistic expectations and focus on doing your work. Overall, I’ve encountered really nice people, both in the head office and on-site.

One issue I’ve noticed is a lack of communication between what’s happening at the sites and the head office. That said, I believe this is fairly common in companies of this type.

The pay is average for Toronto, which seems in line with industry standards. However, I did find that career progression opportunities from on-site roles to head office positions are limited. It appears that moving up requires maintaining strong connections with both HR and leadership. If you express your interest and stay in contact, you may have a better chance of being considered for openings over external candidates.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the job became incredibly stressful. Frustrated residents would often vent their anger over small issues, and it became tiresome to constantly deal with complaints. This led to burnout, especially for me as I was pregnant at the time, which made things even more challenging.

Overall, my experience with the company has been positive, and I do recommend them, but I hope they continue to improve in areas like communication and supporting their employees under high-stress conditions.

Marketing is a dynamic field that blends creativity, strategy, and data analysis. A typical day often involves planning campaigns, analyzing customer behavior, managing social media, and coordinating with sales or design team. A day in marketing can vary a lot depending on your role. You might start by checking campaign performance metrics, responding to emails, or coordinating with the design and sales teams. You could be brainstorming new ideas, drafting content, analyzing market data, or planning social media posts. Some days are highly creative, while others are more analytical and strategic. Good management in marketing involves balancing creativity and accountability. Managers need to set clear goals, provide feedback, and inspire their teams while ensuring campaigns meet deadlines and budgets. Leadership in marketing is as much about guiding creative ideas as it is about organizing processes efficiently

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Unreasonable expectations and a lack of support from superiors. superiors are overpaid and have lack of knowledge and experience promoted because they always say yes so it doesn’t matter if they do not know their job 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Negative, impersonal, thankless, and autocratic.

There is never enough time in an 8 hour day to complete necessary tasks so overtime is anticipated. Treat staff as numbers use them and when done throw you out the door 
No respect 
Contractors do free work in their homes if they say no they are kicked of the trade list so they stay quiet but their employees do not 
Staff have no experience so they can pay them cheap once they learn the business they are out the door 

I was a high school student when I took this job. This was an co-op opportunity provided by my high school. I worked about 5 hours per  day after I finished my morning class. This is boring job if I didn't have  all those colleagues with me in the workplace. It's a rental management office, most of time I am hearing the renter's complain and record down their needs. Other times, I am inputting the data into computers, checking the room status, collating file or recording voice message. Most awful part of this job is to hear the client yelling, complain or crying about the rent or the problems their rooms have. But I have a few fun colleagues, we are always joking around, talking about life or comforting each other when we are on the break. Therefore, all those annoying staff are gone while we are laughing. So this is productive and fun workplace

Working with the team at DMS Property Management for almost six months now has definitely been a positive and rewarding experience for me. The team members are supportive, professional, and team-oriented, which makes the working environment motivating and pleasant to be in. They all share the willingness to aid and assist one another to reach collective goals.

There is encouragement of communication and collaboration, and a culture of respect and responsibility is promoted by the management. I have learnt much since I joined the organization and appreciate the trust, support, and guidance received from the management and colleagues. In my view, it is a wonderful place to work, and I am honored to be part of the strong and committed staff of DMS Property Management.

Whatever position you are in it is under staffed. Benefits are decent. Pay rates are insufficient for what's it expected. Training is insufficient and getting direction or correct procedures from management is terrible. Systems and standard operations are non existant which becomes very stressful. Depending on your position you are expected to be available day/night evenings and during vacation time. This is true even if you are NOT on call.

Acknowledging and resolving clients complaints

Processing orders, forms, applications, and requests
Keeping records of clients interactions, transactions, comments and complaints
Ensure clients satisfaction and provide professional clients support

Performing daily tours/ inspections of the property
Coordinating work with contractors/ supervising their work
Maintaining property inside/outside
Monitoring building safety/security systems
Performing minor plumbing and electrical repairs on the property and in occupied units
Preparing units for upcoming tenants
Asissting tenants with their requests
Attending emergencies if required
Filling out daily and maintenance log

Little respect for employees time or work life balance,  ask you to work on stat holidays without any extra pay or notice provided,  expect you to answer 3 phones at once and repeat the same old marketing spin over and over,  highly critical sr. property manager who provided no training whatsoever and often created unneeded chaos to both tenants and site staff,  do not even think about working for this employer no matter how desperate you are.
