DRMG may be a great first job for younger people who need a pay cheque, but not so great for anyone outside of that description. 

Employee morale is low in office although in all fairness, the employees try to make the best out of it by organizing small events amongst themselves, etc. There is a a huge gap of those who have been in their roles for 10-15+ years who are very loyal to a company who doesn't necessarily take care of them (ie: wages lagging the market, no benefits, no recognition, etc) and employees who have been in their roles for <1 year.

The turnover is ridiculously high for those hired in the past few years (realistically, months). In terms of opportunities for advancement, they're very few and far between.

As for the comment in a previous review regarding employee loyalty and how the employees take pride in the company's growth - the company should in hand be taking care of their employees with their growth. Sales Representatives get treated like gold with outings, while the office people receive little to no recognition for their efforts and hard work.

Company events were inappropriate to say the least (including behaviour from upper management), safety issues were present within the office, inappropriate talk was throughout the office but brushed off to position titles and seniority. 

The addition of KPI's and town hall meetings were wonderful initiatives which I am unsure how they are tracked and developed past 2016.

Note: Dates of employment have been adjusted due to concerns about retaliation. While there are some positive aspects of working here—such as the flexibility to work from home—there are significant cultural and structural challenges that should not be overlooked. The company has experienced a high turnover rate in the past two years, which is concerning. Suggestions for improvements or efficiencies are often disregarded unless they come from individuals in preferred roles or those with close personal ties to management. Unfortunately, innovation is not encouraged if it challenges the status quo. Opportunities for professional growth are extremely limited and appear to be influenced more by internal politics than by merit. Compensation does not reflect the cost of living in the GTA, and raises or performance bonuses are rare, if offered at all. While many team members are supportive, employees should be aware that close ties to management can sometimes lead to undermining behaviour, particularly if one is perceived as a threat. Transparency and fairness in leadership and HR practices could be improved. If you're seeking a role where you're empowered to grow and contribute meaningfully, it may be worth exploring other opportunities. 

Management lets the sales reps dominate the entire culture of the company.

The sales reps are always hanging around the office poking their nose in everything and bothering everyone, breathing down our necks. They are totally unprofessional. And management allows it.

Management is utterly ineffective and cynical. They talk bad about everyone including the reps, openly.

Management and Sales team don't see eye to eye. Sales reps are allowed to do and say whatever they want since that is the company's only source of income. The company is barely profitable.

Market sustainability and effectiveness of product is questionable. There is no credible scientific evidence proving that advertising through the mail actually works. Most people just throw it in the garbage. On top of that, it's bad for the environment. How many trees have been cut down because of this company?

Turnover is incredibly high. Every month at least a few people leave. They don't take care of their employees. And they've gone through like 4 receptionists in 4 months. Nobody can stand working there.

The facility is unattractive. They keep lying about moving to a new office but still haven't done it yet.

Corporate culture may seem appealing to some younger folks, but their "corporate events" were severely inappropriate. Upper level positions behaving inappropriate at said events. Of course everyone wants to "work hard and play harder" but there's a line.

No focus on training or development of staff. A lot of dead-ends in my opinion.

Unorganized, self-centered Management. A lot of people in higher positions because a) they didn't have anyone else who could be a successor, or b) they're friends of the owners. Due to the latter, a lot of Managers get away with more than they should.
Managers unclear in direction, probably cause they had no idea themselves. 

Non-competitive wages and no benefits as of 2017.

I think it could be a good place for someone to launch their career out of school in Marketing or Sales. They need to impose more structure and have qualified leaders. It depends what you want in your career - potential for growth and development, or a beer fridge?

Hopefully with growth they've moved forward with becoming competitive in the market, introducing a benefit plan, and toning down the extreme frat-house mentality.

 I cannot express how grateful I am for the warm welcome I received as a newcomer to Canada. Initially, I was quite shy and a bit scared, as everything was new—the place, the environment, and the culture. However, the incredible support from my colleagues, the staff, the management, and the HR team made me feel right at home. They recognized my work ethic and strengths and truly appreciated them, which boosted my confidence immensely. Like any organization, it has its pros and cons, but at the end of the day, when you sign off and head home with a smile, you know you've found a special place. I have been employed with DRMG now for a little while, I can honestly say...this is one of the most welcoming and supporting companies I have ever worked for. 

The owners of the company always take time out of there busy schedules to notice people, say hello and ask how their day is. 

I have truly felt like a part of a family here. All department managers and employees give their full attention even if you just have a small question to ask and are willing to support you and have your back! 

The one thing I love the most about this company is there willingness to adapt to change and invite new ideas from everyone around them! It really makes for a fun and successful environment!

I have been working with DRMG for almost 9 years and have no intentions of wanting to leave. Its a great place to work with great people. It is a very faced pace environment and can be stressful at time but the Management and Leadership recognizes  the hard work and dedication to that the employees put in and compensates through various means. There has been a lot of growth over the past years that gives me job security.  I have learned and grown personally and professionally over the years that has helped me very successful within my role. The people who we work with on a day to day basis become family and you look forward to being apart of a big team. This is great company to work for who always wants to improve the way of work life.I am looking forward to many more year with this company and many more successful adventures within my own personal growth here.

My typical day at drmg was:
Come in and open up the emails and send the changes to art department, then call the customer who had issues or concerns about their jobs.
I would receive on average about 50 to 100 emails aday.
I would receive the changes or new artwok from the art department, which then i would forwad to the customer.
I would call any sales reps, that I need answers from about the jobs they are bringing in.
The production department which I was in would print out the production sheets to see where each job was in the system and what issues we would have to deal with.
I love working with my teammates.
The most enjoyable part of the job was learning about the advertising end of it.

I'm thankful to say that management and the team are very supportive and encouraging, and will be there for you if you need guidance. I feel I've learned so much about marketing and design, and I'm grateful to work in an environment that fosters creativity! 

Working at DRMG has been a fantastic experience for me. Coming from a toxic work environment, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm and supportive atmosphere from day one. The management team and my colleagues have always been there to lend a helping hand whenever needed. It's refreshing to be in such a positive and friendly workplace environment. DRMG also encourages employees to send messages of gratitude, which not only recognizes hard work but also inspires performance and enriches the company's workplace culture.
