Essex Golf and Country Club

Generally fellow employees are great and are probably best part of the job. Worked in banquet and floor. It’s a prestigious & expensive club so the members are what you would expect, the members come first and will always be accounted for first (you work for them-literally).  Management has issues not listening to employees who have been there longer, they are not receptive or understanding. I wouldn’t really recommend the floor but banquet area is decent. Overall good summer job

On the busy days as a server it’s high pace and sometimes stressful but that’s the restruant standard. You get to know the members and it’s actually pretty great. The hardest part is just sometimes it’s hexctic but you make it through. The money makes it worth while.

Working at Essex is incredibly stressful. No matter how hard you work, it is never appreciated by management. Worked many long shifts with no breaks, including a 13 hour shift during wassail. The way things are run is constantly changed due to crazy turn over in staff. I loved working there for a long time but over time the environment become more and more toxic. By the end it was unbearably stressful coming into work everyday.

I would not recommend working at Essex Golf & Country Club unless you are desperate for a job. The management and most staff are very arrogant. During
my interview, it was explained to me what I would be doing. After starting the job, I was told to do things that were not in the job description.

I worked for a couple of years at Essex. The team is amazing,  the new manager is awesome,  the food is fantastic.  The tips are great, the staff meal is good most of the time. 
I would have stayed but I had to move with my significant other to another city

super easy to get in and start working even as a dishwasher the whole back half of the house totally shows there appreciation. depending on where you want to progress you'll have to show dedication long nights and always listening to the head chef

My boss was very nice for the first week. After that he turned into a dictator. It was the most negative work environment that I ever worked at. If you are looking for a job, look somewhere else.

A great seasonal job for younger people, jobs involved weeding, trimming, lawn maintenance. 
All weather work, unless there is lightning. 

Not a great job if you are looking for something permanent. 

Loved this place and the atmosphere, and I wish I would have got in earlier to develop more relationships. Beautiful buildings and the architectural design of the club was astonishing.

Great place to work with amazing people helping throughout my employment, always learning something new. Enjoyed being on the course day in and out and seeing what goes into maintaining a golf course.
