I've been employed at this company for almost 4 years, so unlike some who've been with us a short while-- I see the big picture. 

I've worked for big corporations before. The reason I stay at this mid-range size company is because management works hard to see who you are and what makes you 'tick'. They'll adjust your workload according to your expertise and they'll train you to be better at areas you could work on. But be careful what you wish for, coz you just might get more and more work on your plate, especially if you're good at it. You'll be duly compensated, of course. 

I've seen members of our team succeed (at work and in their personal lives) and we celebrate with them. I've seen our team down, and those who toughed it out continue to be committed. We have each other's back. 

This is a place for people who love multitasking, enjoy making processes more effective and efficient, open to giving and receiving constructive feedback, and who are "ON" when they walk in the door. For us who are excited about digging deep and finding solutions for everyday concerns, it's quite enjoyable. 

I find that if I have a concern, my manager puts everything down and listens-- I mean actually LISTENS. I've had to learn not to hold back, to talk and give them feedback-- to give my truth-- coz that's the only way anyone or any innovative team moves forward! 

And because my manager has taken the time to get to know me for me, she'll find ways to motivate me and bring me back on track. She'll train me and then challenge me-- because we expect excellence from one another. 

I love working here. And so will you, if you're gritty and self-motivated.

This is a great company and has one of the best teams i have ever worked with! I searched high and low for a company that would have the same values as me and would respect work life balance! Not only does FairTradeWorks have great values and work life balance but I finally found a company that believed in me from day 1. Management has never stopped helping grow my career OR help with my personal development. Most of the time you go into a young company and they have no structure and no opportunity for growth but almost every person here has received a promotion in the direction they want to go to. Management rewards loyal and hard working team players - they are honest with their expectations and never stop pushing you to become your best self. Its truly an amazing company.

FairTradeWorks is a great place to work. Like any company that goes through massive growth in a short period of time, there will be challenges; like culture shifts and obfuscation of vision at different levels of management and inconsistent planning. However during the 'teenage' years, we're getting over some of those growing pains and really coming into our own and re-establishing our culture, clarifying our goals and delivering clear plans to be successful.

Everything used to be extremely fun and carefree, but things always were when you were a kid! Now that we're growing up, things are a little more serious, but that is critical to continue to evolve as a business.

during the interview process they talk about how great it is to work here. that is just to reel you in. 

no lunch room for employees
no work culture. 
high turn over rate. the staff is constantly changing.
over management. they want a report for everything you've done for the day. 
be expected to be tracked where you go during work hours as they do not trust their employees
there are policies for things that don't need polices.

there isn't any employee retention plan and that seems to be the least of their concerns

Total garbage company. I am not sure if I can call this absolute garbage as a company.

The worst of all time in the history of human being...

whatever they are saying is a complete lie...

400+ trades? you gotta be kidding me...

1-4 very cheap trades...they use..

Management: No management / just rely on single owner's decision
Wage: real bad/ never on time ( for subcontractors)
No skills: everything is subcontracting
Makreting/ website/ review: a total lie

When I came into FairTradeWorks I wasn't sure what to expect - I had previously worked for large organizations and this was my first time in a smaller/start up. Right from the beginning I was shocked and impressed as to how organized and efficient FairTradeWorks was. From their extensive on boarding process to there annual employee reviews they are dedicated to providing their team with the best experience including personal growth! 



I feel extremely lucky to have found a position in a company with great values, ethics, and ambition. My boss is kind and understanding and is invested in my professional development. The culture is fantastic - everyone is a team player and we have a great time! Management is always looking for ways to keep us motivated with incentives and regularly checks in to see if we are happy with our work/life balance and feel supported enough to carry out our tasks.

I am so thankful I found FairTradeWorks. Everyone on the team has the same mentality of get it done without all the drama. Every company I had previously worked for was full of office politics and staff drama. FairTradeWorks is the first company I have worked at where there is ZERO drama and office politics - it truly is a breathe of fresh air!

I've worked at FairTradeWorks for over two years, and in that time there have been changes to a number of products, people and leadership, in addition to a shift in attitude - change doesn't have to be bad! FairTradeWorks is a true work hard/play hard atmosphere, and some of the Managers/Directors will hold different people to different standards. We are compensated well for what we do, and 95% of people here are genuinely happy and have no plans of leaving.

Overall, the management is lacking leadership qualities and there is no job security nor the feeling of job security. The overall culture of the place is very negative and very self isolating like. This is the reason for several staff quitting and the ones who decided to speak up to management getting systematically fired during my tenure there. Do not recommend anyone to work there.
