This job varies all depending on ownership as it’s a franchise.
My enjoyable admin and sales job became very stressful once under new ownership and management. 

While there was a regional manager as well at one point who was very helpful, once they left it felt very much that the higher ups at Fastsigns only care about making money and not the wellness of their centers or employees.

The daily functions of the job are fairly basic and easy to do but became complicated as different members in charge would give directions that conflicted with the other.

Employee privileges and expectations were also very conflicting. One example is that you would be expected to check your phone frequently for project updates or questions yet you were also not expected to be on your phone as it could be considered not working.

While it was stated that personal phones did not need to be answered for non emergencies out of office hours, it was expected.

The workplace was not kept clean and employees would not do their own dishes. The proper ventilation is not set up for the type of chemicals being used and construction being done. Lots of the equipment is outdated too.

Unsafe and unprofessional behaviors were not adequately addressed and were, in some instances, enabled by favoritism.

There is a lack of formalized policies for numerous areas that are standard in many other workplaces.

Occasionally had to deal with other Fastsigns locations and most were lovely and supportive but I would stay clear of some locations.

Certain staff members were granted additional privileges that were not extended to others performing comparable work.

Although not explicitly stated, there is a strong expectation that employees prioritize the company above personal commitments, resulting in limited respect for a healthy work–life balance.

Under the previous management, front desk operations were consistently staffed with 2–3 employees. After the new ownership took over, I was frequently scheduled alone yet still expected to meet the sales targets and customer service standards previously achieved by a team of 2–3 staff members.

The positives of the job is that most customers are fairly easy to deal with, there is a free employee lunch once per month, and they allow you to play your own music at work.

FASTSIGNS is an incredibly engaging workplace that constantly challenges your creativity and problem-solving skills. Every project is different, so the work never gets repetitive — one day you’re designing, the next you’re fabricating or installing.

The hybrid graphic design/production role keeps things dynamic and helps prevent burnout, since you’re always switching between digital and hands-on tasks. Each location is independently owned, so management is usually on site, approachable, and genuinely aware of what’s happening in daily operations.

Corporate provides excellent training and technical support, with regular webinars and a strong sense of community between locations — people help each other instead of competing. It’s a fantastic place to grow your skills beyond digital design into print production and fabrication. You’ll learn a lot, and get really fast in Illustrator!

I was taught how to complete the morning scheduling of incoming and current jobs in the company. Was also taught how to revise the existing schedule throughout the day to include "rush" jobs that came in. Although the typical day was at times challenging, it was rewarding to be able to achieve the daily tasks at hand. Co-workers and other employees always had the focus of a team environment. The hardest part of the day was ensuring new, current and "rush" jobs that came in on the fly made the schedule and was activated for design, print, finishing and delivery. The enjoyable part of the day was knowing that all jobs were on schedule and were going to make the deadline.

As an outside sales, you are expected to prospect new clients and bring new businesses. You will get some leads from the email generation but you should be able cold call and bring results.
It's a great place to work with friendly, motivated and creative staff. 
The challenge for new sales reps is to understand about signs but Fastsigns offers support to learn on the go with a e-learning portal, magazines, weekly emails etc.
If you know something about designing, it will make your job easier.
The shop works in regular hours from Monday to Friday but if you work under commissions, I recommend you to be available anytime and day to increase your salary.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day involves checking emails designing products, running the printers, performing various production tasks, meeting with clients face-to-face, and processing transactions.

Absolute nightmare to work at the location I worked at. Once got asked to delay my vacation by a day, I was taking a flight somewhere for a wedding and they basically asked if I wouldn’t mind delaying the flight for day because they didn’t have anyone to complete the projects. They had well over a months notice and had no idea how to operate any of the equipment… at all.
Would allow others to mentally terrorize and not do anything about it 

Sallary is not good but it is good to develop yourself learning new applications everyday but when it comes to knee in front of someone it is time to go then. Even you are much more skillfull than them then they are right and you are wrong again because you had been only working for 1 year for this company and therefore you and your idea are nothing. That is fastsigns.

Terrible ownership. Owners are fairly new to owning a company it seems and they are not doing the best job. So much miscommunication internally, outdated office and systems. 
Outdated machines that posed a safety risk 
Certain coworkers were clearly given more opportunities than others. 
Long days for very low wage. 
They expect you to do more than the outlined tasks in the job posting description. 
Overall just not a nice place to work. 

This company offers no benifits.  On a daily basis, the manager would start the day with a meeting discussing how he did on his PS2 then end the meeting with yelling at me for the stupidest reasons, and calling me derogatory names, dropping the "F"-bomb" etc... The store manager even hit me with a steel baseball bat.  I'd, get yelled at for doing exactly what i was told to do, or blamed for evvery screw up.

While employed at Fast Signs I mostly enjoyed my days . My old co-workers were understanding , fun and impressionable. I learned a lot o ly to discover when I left I was inexperienced with regards to all the new technologies and techniques. In order to be successful elsewhere I would need to learn how to use modern applications and skills
