Flores and Pine

My feelings are mixed about working here.  I LOVED my coworkers. Everyone supported everyone and the team attitude was fantastic. Tips are also really great and clientele was awesome.
However,  the FOH staff turnover rate is DIZZYING. In the year I worked there they fired several managers on the spot and had several staff members walk out mid-shift.
I believe the brand new management right now is finally on par but be careful...if the ownership doesn't like you you'll be out the door without cause and without warning. It is obvious that the owners only care about money, not really the humans representing their business. 
My only regret is that in the year I worked there, they didn't have it together enough to care about how the experience was for staff.  I have never worked in such a losely-run restaurant. 

While I was working for Flores and Pine, most of my peers and I sensed a form or favouritism towards other serves. I was never a bad employee and I did what was expected of me to complete perfection. I got along with my peers and I always brought positive and exceptional energy to the workplace. The people who are higher than you genuinely see themselves as more superior than you and it is truly sad to see that the culture at this place has gone terribly downhill. Customers were always amazing though, that is the only thing I will always appreciate about Flores and Pine, however if you wanna feel like you belong in a team and you want to feel a sense of validation, stay away from this place because if you are not the owners or the managers favourites, they will get rid of you within seconds. 

Working for Flores & Pine is tremendously rewarding. The culture is one of creativity and innovation that drives the customer experience to a place of excellence. Employment at a restaurant is demanding at the best of times and this is true for F&P now and pre-pandemic. You need to work hard and fast to stay on top of trends and keep pace with guest expectations. This team works hard for the passion of the industry and business and is recognized by the restaurant's ownership. The management group is ambitious but also light-hearted and collaborative which is a wonderful combination.

I worked at Flores and Pine since open. I found a long with their indifference towards employees who weren’t favourited that there was no room for advancement as they claim there will be. They fired me without cause, I pulled my weight and got along with all of my coworkers. However they decided it would be appropriate to fire me because “it wasn’t clicking”. The favouritism in this building is insane  if you are not a great looking female server ... GOOD LUCK! Firing without cause seems to be a reoccurring issue here. The staff was great overall. I also got written up because one of the managers favourite servers touched my hair.

Do not work here unless your situation  demands it. Both fron and back of house management is the worst I have seen in my time being in this industry for 5 years. There is no pride,organization, communication or any form of actual management  that goes on here. You have been warned the same type of favoritism that others have talked about (that i have also seen) in the front of house goes on in the back of house.
 P.S the FOH manager is a alcoholic that can't do his job properly

The people that work there are very nice.

The management is poorly constructed and the owner only cares about the sales quota.

They will work you out of working there eventually.

High level of stress in the shortest amount of time.

I was a good employee at Flores and pine and always followed orders. Not the highest selling server but I brought in 5 star reviews. I feel I did not deserve to be fired. The manager there has a case of little man syndrome and I think he was threatened by me because I was taller than him or something and I talked to his favourite girl servers. He fired me without reason. (Literally without reason, when I asked why all he said was I wasn’t a good fit there)

They are flexible with hours. The management is very understanding. They pay well probably some of the best in the city. Tip outs are good. The culture was the best thing about this place, it’s all younger gents but it felt like family. No breaks but you can take one if you need it, they aren’t strict. If you have a chance to work here, I’d say try it out. Closed mon-tues, so everyone has the same days off. 

Great place to work, clientele is amazing lots of frequent guest visit us. Management is always follow up public health guidelines, new tendencies in the industry to apply in the restaurant. Food is amazing, costumers return for the uniqueness of our dishes. Co-workers  are friendly and cooperative. Overall a great place to work, looking forward for manny years at F&P.

I started at the restaurant last year, and although a trying time for all restaurant staff in our industry, the new management has been absolutely amazing with communication, caring for the staff and creating a great culture. I make amazing money and the clientele is great as well. We have fun at work while we all try to take care of our guests.
