It's not a place for everyone. Typical day at work consists of a lot of organizational skill and time management if you are taught properly. I was fortunate to learn a lot from the great mentors i had working there alongside me while i was going to school and it made me stronger as a person. However, as i previously stated it is not a place for everyone. management teams are not empathetic and have serious lack of tone and compassion to care, communication skills for their objectives as a team and as individuals.
 
Communication skills are at the upmost worst and have no clear sense of direction, this is what i feel is the hardest part of the Job, if you do not know something, ask, if you make mistakes, look for guidance and a show me step how to do something right. Instead you are discouraged, frowned upon and become the management teams source for gossip among themselves. Leading by example is not something the management team does, i feel most management teams depending on what location you are from rather have employees do the work for you and slack off when the opportunity rises. New staff members don't get the proper education and training. Lack of care and consideration for their staff and stagnates growth to become successful in all aspects.

As negative as it sounds, i have much to thank for - if it wasn't for all the negative influences then i would not have grown experience as to how to properly lead, communicate and demonstrate care and compassion for the staff. Through intense discouragement for the years that i have worked for this company i was more encouraged individually and by the peers i grew bonds with to do the right things which included seeking knowledge and demonstrating my abilities that were to benefit the store at a retail-professional level. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is the team you get work with besides the management team itself. Depending on what store you are located at you may come across people with very strong  personalities and influences that enhance the way you see things in life and how you may want to approach daily challenges. If you are someone that is hungry for a challenge, to be discouraged by some management teams but is self motivated to rise to the top on a personal-professional level then this may be the place to be.

This company is great at finding new and creative ways to make working retail difficult.  Retail already has a  bad reputation with people searching for careers, and Canadian Tire and the Forzani Group will ensure that your days are filled with frustration and wonder.  They pay reasonably well but given the pressures your under I think it should be more.

If your a career retailer you will know the difference between a company where the leadership is connected to the day to day challenges and a company that simply views everything and everyone as a result.  The leadership simply manages the people off of reports and numbers with no regard for anything else...Any challenge or obstacle is the individuals problem to overcome.  Everything is compared to last year and your either doing well or failing based on a number...this can be very tiring at times. 

Receive paperwork for orders to be processed for the day.
Sort by priority. If products were needed urgently, that order would be done first.
Count and sort; record discrepancies; adjust distribution accordingly;
I was basically left to make judgement calls and to analyze the situation. In extreme cases, would I get the team leads or supervisors involved. eg. unable to get tickets printed, because the ticket printer was not working and when trouble shoot was done, it still did not work.
The management team informed us of what was going on in the company and what was required of each employee.
Co-workers were all team players and would show team spirit by working together to get the job done especially on orders that were top priority.
The hardest part of the job was working in the summer when the tempertures were extremely higher in the warehouse.
Most enjoyable part was getting the job done. It was a sense of accomplishment.

Indeed asks for a review of this company but so much as changed since then that not much of what I have to say has any relevance whatsoever. It was an okay workplace that demanded 12 hour shifts that proved to be very draining. I think that policy has since changed and that is no longer the case. The most enjoyable part of the job was the discount given to all FGL employees at banner stores. The hardest part of the job was inter-company politics.

Atmosphere was a good place to learn customer service experience and gain product knowledge. I enjoyed learning about the products we sold because I am an outdoor enthusiast and was passionate about the activities the store promotes. 

Good for a starter job and if you excell and work hard there is room for advancement.

This specific location have a lot of great managers. Mangers that listen to the concens and voices of both the employees as well as the customers problems and issues were death in a fair and timely manner. Overall the restaurant was considered a home and everyone is a big happy family. When things got tough we all pulled together and got through it as a family not strangers

Great group of individuals at each store. You end up working among family. Can be very fluid and learn as you go approach but most folks are use to an active lifestyle. A lot of growth and change occurs at a fast pace and it really becomes a matter of integrity, urgency, and personal commitment and dedication to see the success in yourself and the company.

In general the employee complete the tasks appointted every day.
It is minimum time to get to learn new things
The management supervise the work from one spot of the warehouse 
The co-workers are hard workers
the company offer montly BQs or other type of outing to the employees

Great place to work interacting with coworkers and customers selling sports equipment clothing shoes and accessories
Pay is reasonable but increases are few and far between
Managers who don't know how to manage and respect people basically are A-holes

Employees compensated well, amazing xmas parties, excellent system for employee development, excellent mid-level management.
Very involved for a public corporation.
