In 25 years of customer service and retail experience, this by far was the worst experience of my life.  Beware managers, assistant managers you dont get to manage head office micro manages everything you do. They ask for schedules and then they change all of it without telling managers or employees. Every move you make your being watched so that they can consistently tell you and staff what your doing wrong. You will never be appreciated for anything. You’ll be accused of stealing meanwhile all jewelry or anything of any value is to be sent to head office and from there well couldn’t tell you as you never hear about again.. Head office well they just all gossip together and they’ll send in spies to report back to them little rats that they are. You will work well over 40 hours but absolutely NEVER can you be paid for it. Every manager knows this as they all work over 60 hours but always get paid the same pay …there motto helping the community .. by what GREED? It’s sad it really is….

Upper management is a mess, they don’t care about anything but money which is insane considering it’s a non-profit. Head office will hinder you every step of the way, they don’t support the stores or the employees. Managers in some stores are amazing, some stores are a nightmare so it’s depends on your location.

The job is really about the people, the workers in the stores are what make it worth it. If you just need something to pay the bills it’s good as a temporary spot. 

No one really knows how things are supposed to be. Every store has different procedures yet all are supposed to be the same. When the CEO comes in everyone follows policy and procedures when she is not there it is a free for all. If you want to work at a job where you are always being told different by different leads everyday and you are constantly stressed out go work at Goodwill (Churchill in Welland)

The building our future program is a great start for many workers who didn't have certifications in certain areas and allowed co op opportunities with pay of 14$ at the time non taxed

No one took any time to train me at all. Just thrown right in with no help or guidance. Incredibly chaotic environment. Feels like they need to have someone dedicated to training
