I work here and it's a good place to learn about the wood industry. A lot of people have had a bad attitude and zero work ethic and then expect to be rewarded for doing terrible work. I can't see management yelling at someone but if an employee constantly makes mistakes & costs the company money, you can imagine they'd be upset or let them go. Quality is important. It's the employees who make the products so cant put blame on the bosses just because its easier to do. Everyone has a right to their opinion, but we only go out of our way to leave a bad review, never good. If you are a hard worker and keep to yourself you will have no problems. You can't expect to find a perfect work place but you can at least try and make the decision for yourself.

management does not treat employees in a polite or professional manner. have been an employee with exemplary attendance for 9 years and am still not making $3 an hour more then i was hired for. Have learned and can preform jobs from start to finish in the facility but that has not reflected on how i am treated or my wages. they have hired on new people over the years with little to no experience and have stared them at a higher wage then long term employees. would not recommend this company if you are looking for a career or long term employment.

This company doesn't care about their employees, no matter how long you've been there. If you are a female, don't even apply here, you will go nowhere, they are very prejudice against women, will never let you run machines, only do the "girl work". Owner yells at employees, berates them in front of others. I suggest you look elsewhere, unless you want a dead end job that gives very small wage increases, with no security for your future, but you do get a doughnut at the end of each month. Upstairs cafeteria hasn't been cleaned or vacuumed in years, washroom upstairs are disgusting and get cleaned seldom

I've worked at GGS for a number of years, and it's a small business so you get to know everyone there. The dress code is relaxed, and in the office you're not micro-managed. As long as you get your work done, you're able to decide how to do it. Everyone is cross-trained as they go, so we all jump in to help out wherever we can when things get busy. Vacation requests are always approved, the hours are good and there is job security. As long as you show up on time and are reliable, there's very little to worry about. There's also the perk of a profit share bonus quarterly, which is nice.

I am a long term employee here at GGS and feel that this is a really good place to work. The people here are friendly and make it a good place to come to everyday. They pay a fair wage weekly which is nice and with only a 4 1/2 day work week it feels like we always have a long weekend. The work is easy and not physically strenuous. Management here are respectful, understanding and easily approachable. If you are willing to work everyday and do your job then you will do really well here.    

I have been a long term employee at other wood working companies and this has been the best of the bunch to work for. Not a perfect company, but I have never worked at one that was. If you show up and do a whole weeks worth of work you will do well here. This is a small company but they do for there employees what they can. Ok benefits and some perks now and then. If you expect a free ride this is not the place for you, but if you have no problem working then you will do just fine here.

As a long term employee I have seen major improvements in management. It's nothing like it use to be that's for sure. Safely is always number one priority. If you want to learn what real woodworking is about GGS is a great place for you. You can learn so much from some of the best woodwokers in the industry. You can take pride in what you do cause the end result is amazing. When you can turn on the TV and see something you had a part of creating is a great feeling. 

There is no future working here. Employees make below the poverty line but are expected to have production rates that are impossible to obtain. Quality is of little importance here. It’s all about production.  No raises or advancement regardless of how hard working or dedacted you are. You will never be rewarded for a job well done. Bosses are very disrespectful and will scream at you for the most minor of infractions. Run, don’t walk away from here!

I'm a long term employee and have seen a lot of improvements in the company in the last few years. For example, there is now air conditioning in the lunch rooms, which are maintained by cleaning staff.  They have also implemented a work-share initiative. Management has become more receptive and cooperative towards its employees.  If you are willing to put in the hours and do an honest days work, you can expect to always be treated fairly and maintain your job security.

The job is a manual labour job (at least for those not in the office) so of course there is some hard work to do. But overall, you aren’t pressured to work insanely fast and you don’t have supervisors hanging over you. Management has really improvised in the last 5 years or so and the people are really great. They just expect you to be there for your shifts.
