What is the best part of working at the company?
Some people pour their heart and soul into the business and are passionate, kind, and knowledgeable. It's an opportunity to learn from great professionals.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There was not a clearly independent or reliable avenue for reporting harassment, unethical conduct, or broader workplace concerns without fear of internal escalation issues and retaliation.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
While the company promotes values around inclusion, development, and employee support, the reality of the workplace experience did not consistently reflect those claims. Career progression lacked structure and transparency, with limited opportunities for meaningful advancement or professional development despite increasing responsibilities and expectations.
Employees with strong institutional knowledge and high performance were not always recognized or supported appropriately. 
Feedback culture could feel reactive rather than constructive, and concerns raised by employees were at times perceived personally instead of being addressed professionally. In some cases, performance management processes appeared inconsistent, with formal documentation being created without clear coaching, measurable development plans, or prior collaborative feedback discussions.

This is a dynamic company which has grown from 5 to 500 people in 20 years, and has a well established presence in the FinTech area, with big clients like HSBC.
Working there as a programmer you feel the pressure to deliver fast and high quality. Your coworkers are brilliant and most of them have already plenty of experience working for similar companies,
This is not a place to learn, you are supposed to already know lots of things and only improve them, and the constant pressure keeps everyone busy, so there is very limited support from your peers.
High-level management is OK, you may meet them sometimes after hours in the canteen and have a chat with them around a glass of drink, and they seemed to me common sense people 
Low-level managers however, at least the ones I had to deal with, were the worst people I have ever meet: dishonest, back-stabbers, disrespectful and bully.

My [obvious] advice to anyone looking for a job here is to stay enough to improve your skills and leave immediately when you start feeling uncomfortable.

GR is the most disorganised company I have ever worked for. 

The teams are completely unaligned. Decisions are made without visibility of all relevant teams. The higher-ups make decisions that are not well thought out, but expect and fully rely on their teams to make it work anyway. "Set up for success" does not exist at Global Relay. 

Sales teams are extremely demanding and have no concept of what is and isn't urgent, but they are constantly supported because that is what brings the money in, and all GR cares about is the money. 

Managers love to micromanage, processes change often without any notifications to teams, scheduling meetings with managers are almost impossible, and we're often expected to read our managers' minds. 

Pay is low and hard work is rewarded with more work, but no guarantee of a title change or a good raise. 

Only good thing about this company is the kitchen crew, and the beer and wine on tap. 

I had a negative experience working here. The salary was significantly below industry standards, yet expectations were unrealistically high. Support and guidance were minimal, and instead of fostering collaboration, the culture was isolating and tense.

Some long-time employees and managers used their position to pressure new hires without offering real help. Constructive feedback was rare, criticism was common.

There are a few perks like low-cost meals and free beer, but that doesn't compensate for the stress and lack of respect. It didn’t feel like a place where people or their efforts were valued.



Management consist of people who have zero skills as a leader, are back stabbers and completely dishonest. 

Very little help is provided by the team members so if you don't understand some part of your project, you will have to understand all of it by yourself by spending lots of extra time.

No documentation of code being developed and zero guidance by senior members of the team.

Like someone else commented, this is not a place to learn. You should already know lot of things to make career here.

I've been working here for almost a year. The company culture is fantastic. They care about people and respect all people and nations. Since I'm an immigrant, it feels like my second family. We need to be at the office for two days and the working hours are flexible. There is definitely no dream company, but I'm really happy here, and I really appreciate this opportunity.
The other thing is about your personality. If you are a social person and looking for adventure, you should apply for GR.

A typical day at work varies from logging in packages, to emailing clients and answering phones while welcoming guests into the office. While working here, I have learned how to work in a corporate office and have gained immense knowledge. Managment is a flat structure which creates a more comfortable environment. My co-workers are great and I enjoy working with them. I love the people I work with and enjoy the environment.

I had a largely positive experience here, enjoying the fantastic benefits like the low-cost bistro lunches right in the office. My coworkers were consistently nice, collaborative, and helpful.
However, a key area for improvement lies within management. Their approach often felt lacking in insight and forward-thinking, leaning towards micromanagement and holding onto a mindset that seems rooted in the early 2000s.

By far the worst place I have ever worked. The work culture is extremely toxic and full of bullies. They claim to be an innovative and diverse company, but people from underrepresented backgrounds are treated as the lowest on the chain. I honestly cannot imagine a more toxic and dysfunctional environment. If you work here, be prepared for it to take a serious toll on your well-being.

Management breathing down your neck and need to control all things including where you place commas and periods in your emails
