Golden Age Manor

I'm working as a nursing aide at Golden Age Manor Assisted Living. What we do at work we give medications,assist resident during their shower day,we clean their rom,wash their clothes & bed sheets,do am care and pericare,put on their stocking & leg brace,we use lift to transfer residents,remind them to go during meals,porter to dinning room & back to their room.The management are fare to their staff. Co-workers are all friendly & we help each other at work.The hardest part at work is if we are short staff and we end up having more residents and the resident are upset because we are late to give their medications or do their care.The most enjoyable part of my job is i get along to my co-workers and residents.I always give a hand to my co-workers that need my help specially to those new staff at work.I love working to Nursing home because my resident treat me like their  own family.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Golden Age Manor is giving new graduates the opportunity to be able to work and apply what they learned from school. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The commute, as i live in the Southside of the City.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I can say that it is a multi cultural company as the people that works there are from different nationality. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depends on what team you`re working with on that particular day, you`ll do the regular routine looking after residents and whatever assignments you need to do with your team.

Im only working in the company short time as my practicum, Im not paid for my work . Working in that company i learned a lot and make me competent of working of resident with lots of variety of work with the resident and dementia people , weak , move them gently.

Good place for the elderly, nice staff and clean environment. The residents are happy, good management free lunches. They understood and helped with my mental illnesses

Good workplace to start for health career. I've learned a lot and i gained more knowledge about nursing. Some worker are helpful but there are some staff are not. depends whom your working with.

Time goes fast while taking care of residents. There are multiple tasks to achieve during the shift such as resident's needs and doctor's orders with multicultural environment.

A caring center, a lot to learn from people just by making yourself available each time you ar needed or on call. It is important to remember to be patent.

Great place to learn and do clinical studies. Lots of walking and friendly and fun place to be. Residents are happy and are looked after very well.....
