A typical day at work involves many, many things: servicing clients, servicing representatives, running around, solving problems, and of course, answering calls.
I learnt a great deal about the importance of financial planning and insurance.  I also learnt that it`s a tough line of work to be in; I have seen people greatly succeed, but I've also seen others crumble and fail.
The management has changed recently; change is good because it brings a change of pace and new challenges.
The office is one big, happy family; it might seem that way because I've been here so long.
The hardest part of the job dealing with unsatisfied clients.  I completely sympathize with them and their worries; it is their life savings we are talking about, and although I try my very best to help them out and give them solutions, some of them can be very rough.
The most enjoyable part of the job is the busy time of year called RRSP season; it's busy and the days are long, but the satifaction after a hard day's work is very enjoyable

Get new customers  or get out  of the way
You career success is directly related to your capacity to attract and retain high net worth customer .
The firm provide good training and the financial industry impose mandatory credit acquisition  to keep your license valid.
A typical day starts with you picking the phone and calling  prospective customer. It is a numbers game. The more you prospect, the better your chance to get a customer

To do well with Investors Group you must be determined to build your own business. You're not given clients or a nice list of prospects. You must go out, meet people, develop the subtle art of offering your services to people without coming off a "salesman", etc.
It's a challenge.

Productive orientation, workplace culture customer oriented. lots of finance knowledge to acquired. 
Providing assistance and support to all the self employed financial planificators. managing prospection activities, meeting and director agenda.

Not a great place to be at the bottom of the foodchain. Toxic environnement at downtown office from the top down. Best part of that job was leaving. Would not recommend for a job at that level. If you're c-suite, you'll be treated alright I guess..

Shadowing of personal advisor, lot of different aspect of the job is shown during the internship. They show you the day to day as well as client prospecting.

It is a stressful and competitive environment. Recommended if you have already a book of business.
