I have never worked in a chain restaurant that valued their employees and are as professional as much as Hy’s. They offer benefits, consider your availability, are flexible in emergency situations. People who work there make it a comfortable environment. The managers and other staff were extremely helpful and didn’t leave you to deal with difficult situations alone if there were disruptive customers. They have a very high service standard which can be seen as uptight but they are very understanding at the same time. They offer two staff meals a day and free beverages on shift and a decent discount on food. They possess class not just for customers to see but behind the scenes as well.

Friendly co-workers and an overall fun easy job. However management and communication is lacking making it hard to do your job properly. Time spent working here was stressful management would make promises to advance your position but when it came down to it never made those things happen. They would rather hire externally than internally regardless of experience within that position filed.  Not a good place to work if you would like to move up.

Since I am working in the hospitality industry, Hy's it's one of the only restaurant that I saw a server taking retirement! not one many.
The most enjoyable part of my job it's when I great people, when the restaurant is full. we are one of the best steakhouse in the town, most of our regular guests will compare dinner at Hy's with a family dinner. We like people feeling home.
Relationships between colleagues are really good, sometimes difficult, but we are all above that. we are all mentally mature and I love that.

I love working with Hy’s everyone here is friendly and welcoming. The managers here are the best!!! They are so kind, supportive, professional and caring. all that you are looking for a manager, they have it all. The only thing that is not good about the place is the tips. if you are a host you don’t get much of tips. but if you are a server you could get really good tips. Hy’s provides a really good reasonable benefits for health, retirement and so on.

The bad  management and lack of workplace culture.

Chaotic, toxic, stressful, frustrating.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Hope for the best, expect the worst.

Management is understanding but will expect a lot from you at the same time.Hard looking for coworkers to cover you're shift when you're not gonna be able to work at the day ur scheduled.Everyone will be watching ur every move if they dont like you.

If you are looking to get into the hospitality industry working here is a pretty good start. You're going to meet very interesting people and sure some are precious, but the tips are good. Its great for university/work life balance because of the late nights. 



Shifts are very long, starting at 2:30 makes for your day to be very cut up. Management has favourites and is very obvious about it. When you are new you must be silent and fall in line HARD, do not show leadership or initiative. 

I really enjoyed working here. The management was great and I felt comfortable around them. Staff is welcoming and friendly. A little overwhelming to work here at first as everything seems so intense, but as I got comfortable I really enjoyed working here. Great tip out for hostesses, pretty busy restaurant.

Very friendly staff up until the management change. More than half the kitchen staff was let go simply because they did not agree with the new Chef. Typical shifts were gruelling and tough but the camaraderie made up for all that.
