What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay is the only good thing about this company. They expect you to take disrespects from customers. This company does not value there employees at all. Got fired after 10.5 months of working there with no punctuality issues; mind you halfway through my shift this was done to me. Supervisors calling there underlings sexy, managers waving your concerns off and instructing you to leave truck trailer doors open while driving off loading docks etc etc

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with idiotic customers and also idiotic superiors (managers, supervisors) as well. Bit of a double whammy to be quite honest!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very slacking and laid back. Too laid back if you ask me. A lot of disrespect passed through warehouse personnel as well!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typical day consists of delivering products to customers

Independent is a relatively new company (13 years in business) but they have already captured the market and have proven they are here to stay.  They try to stay ahead of the curve and are really devoted to their employees, their growth and the overall workplace culture. There is the ability to grow within the company if you work hard, as they generally promote within. It has a "family" feel even though they've grown substantially over the years with 3 branches and tons of staff. Most of the staff are hardworking and the managers/owners are present and involved day to day.

Throughout my time here at Independent, i have had only good experiences with both management and coworkers. Everybody here has helped me succeed and advance within the company while also supporting me with my life outside of work. I am proud to call coworkers friends of mine and that culture is carried into each day. Work can be stressful sometimes due to the nature of it and the amount of work, but everybody has helped pitch in and make it run smoothly. It is a great place to work and i am very proud to be an Independent employee.

Independent is a professionally run company with a family feel atmosphere. Ownership has always made themselves available 24/7 for all employees. All managers are hands on throughout the day while encouraging team building. They offer training, promote within, they care, generous, go out of their way, they interact, the list can go on. Any negative comments you read are more than likely disgruntled employees that were negative from the start. Give them a shot, if your good at what you do then this is the place to land, you won't be disappointed. 

Great place to work for. All coworkers are friendly as well as eager to help each other. Everyone is treated with respect as well as having a feeling of being part of a family. Many opportunities for advancement are available within the company. Good  work life balance and benefits. Self motivated  and customer focused individuals with an eagerness to learn will have a very rewarding career at Independent  Mechanical. 

The work is fast paced but the colleagues are probably the best in the business/industry.

- Never had a lay off during the pandemic and did not cut hours 

The work here is only for those who can thrive in a super fast paced environment. There can be unexpected spikes in workload but with that being said, the company is growing and hence in need of extra hands to work the load. The people here are great and there's always something I learn everyday at work.

Can't say anything positive. My tenure started off ok but as time passed, it was obvious the direction the company was headed. A supervisor who thought he has all the power in the world, indirect threats and nothing was ever done to discipline him. The people all come from the same previous employer so if you're an outsider, good luck. Promised the world and they came through with nothing.

The company is growing year over year which makes each new year exciting. The company invests in its people, and wants to be a good employer.
There are new opportunities all the time and the company truly wants to keep all of its employees long term.
The industry is very competitive which produces high demands from customers.

Great company to work for. I have been in the wholesale business for over a decade and can safely say this company looks after its people. Fun place to work with a Social Committee that organize raffle's for giveaways such as tickets to MLSE games.
