work environment / intensity varies from place to place - some pools were overcrowded 24/7  to the extent that you would usually have to turn people away from the pool, while other locations would consistently have 3 swimmers. Certain locations were known to have more difficult patrons that would make your  life awful- some patrons would threaten lifeguards and lose their minds if you needed to close the pool so you could go to the washroom, while at other locations you could go the whole day without seeing a single patron. 

The communication between Employees, Management, and the Super Intendants was awful. I would get complaints on the job REGULARLY from the super intendants and patrons, regarding things like;
-inconsistent scheduling. - (most places wanted a regular and consistent lifeguard but due to management's scheduling that was impossible.)
-Other employees' negligent behaviour
-Management sending people without their NL certification in place of lifeguards
and so much more
Not to mention there was a DANGEROUS lack of training and appropriate safety measures to protect both staff and patrons, especially considering how amount of chemicals handled. (ie, staff using pool toys or their bare hands to administer chemicals)
(personally, i think i got a total of a 5 minute explanation of the pools pump/ filter that consisted of "just add shock to the water if anythings wrong", and had no idea what to do when the pump shut off, what backwashing was, how to vacuum the pool, etc, and didnt see another person from the company for WEEKS while working on site)

TLDR; experience varies from place 2 place but can b awful, ur not gonna get training 4 anything,  management is negligent w/ employee health, TBH If you have ur NL its not worth it. The risk of having a poor location is not worth the pay. 




Great place, Helped  people to various activities located on the main floor (Pool hall, Theatre, Bowling alley) of the condo. I Also checked the Ph Levels of the hot tubs, pools and I also cleaned the pool.

I Learned Patience working there because the kids that would hang out on the main floor, tend to get into heaps of trouble so I would supervise and tend to my duties. I also learned Multi tasking making sure every person was satisfied 

If you cant sit for long periods of time and do nothing this job isn't for you, Its not always like this, I worked Saturday Nights. So Sometimes It can be busy. I really liked getting to know the residents, esp the kids that would hang out on the main floor.  They Keep your day interesting :).

They were so nice on interview day. One of the best I had but in terms of job they don't provide you with any gloves or mask as you are engaged with chemicals regularly. they only give you a t-shirt and you have to pay for it! I lost a pair of shoes and pants since Clorine splashes on your clothes all the time. there is zero benefit.  It also requires physical job a looot! for vacuuming the pool and very low wage for it. I just got some knowledge about pool that I'm happy about.

I have worked for other companies and this was the worst organised I have seen. No communication with other employees and the supervisor almost never responded, chlorine levels were always low and there were never enough chemicals supplied. I felt I was asked to open pools in unsafe conditions and the company does not seem to care about its employees or patrons. Never had enough staff.

There isn't that much work to do (it can get boring at times), however if you work for an unreliable recreation director or with other attendants that ignore their duties things can get tough (especially if the building management isn't understanding.)

Management/HR should put more effort into checking in with employees and rec-directors so they can weed out employees that are not good team players. (Please don't hold onto bad employees for too long.)

My job at jadaco was quite rewarding with the long hours and quiet uneventful days being the norm for my shifts. I was able to learn about pool maintenance and water chemical safety while on the job with the single guarding for most pools being quite relaxing. The only difficult part of the job would be watching for patron which is not that hard. The best part of this job is that most of the time when there is no one around you can relax and do anything you want.

A fun environment/meet many different people from various background.
I learned it is essential as Recreation Coordinator to have great interpersonal skills.
Coworkers are very experience in their job, and are always helpful.
If there is a need for a program I enjoy the planning stages of the program, and when it's implemented and a success  - There is a sense of accomplishment.

Typical day at work would include managing the site and doing other task as assigned. It is a calm environment and you can work easily. The pay is not worth it though. You have to work more for less pay. The management is nice but not fair with the way they treat some employees.  Its a normal fair minimum paying job. 

Ignore any bad reviews, I can't find anything negative to say about working here. Its a chill environment and the tasks are very straightforward. If you need assistance there is always a supervisor available for contact. The residents at the condos are all very friendly. and you won't run into too much trouble. Perfect environment especially if you're an independent worker.

I didn't receive any formal training. The pool I worked at was infested with bugs. I never met any employer or other employees in person. The lights over half the pool were out for several weeks which was a considerable safety hazard. The pool was not stocked with chlorine. Never work at a single guard pool, at least not for your first lifeguarding job.
