Leading Edge Physiotherapy

I have been working with Leading Edge Physiotherapy for approximate 8 years now.  Before being hired by them, I worked as an Exercise Therapist/Kin at other Physiotherapy clinics where I felt my growth plateaued.  I knew then it was time for a change.  When I saw the ad for Leading Edge, I applied to be an assistant and on my very first day of my interview, both the owners of the clinic realized by potential just by having a casual and fun conversation.  Instead of working as an assistant, they gave me the opportunity to work in their Aquatics Department which I had no idea about.  They invested their time teaching me and saw my worth.  
The culture is great and their focus is always about the staff and treating the patients to get better.  Definitely a great company to work for.

If you are looking for a place where employers care about employees, treat them well, and value your work, this is not the place. I worked there for over two years and never received benefits, and I was never paid properly.

I also constantly had to check my paycheque because hours I worked were missing. I was asked to work overtime but was never paid for it.

Moreover, the HR department did not seem to care about physiotherapists and the general manager being disrespectful toward other PTAs. Being a PTA often felt more like a personal assistant role in some situations, as some physiotherapists did not consistently perform their duties properly.

In conclusion, I did like the patients and the other PTAs, but I felt sorry for the patients, as some physiotherapists did not always provide proper patient care.

A great place to get hands on experience in a clinical setting, however, the cons significantly outweigh the pros. As a pta you are constantly overworked and underpaid, not recognized for your hard work (which includes 8 hours of juggling multiple patients at once with no breaks), and made to feel easily replaceable. Although I don't regret working here, I think it is truly disappointing how pta's are the backbone of the clinic and keep LE's model running (as many patients as possible = more $$), but you barely make minimum wage and there are no benefits. Worst job conditions I've experienced by far, especially the mood swings from physios if something isn't done exactly how they want it, the second that they ask. Not sustainable long term and so mentally exhausting. 

I've been with this company for many years now. I started in the role of physiotherapy assistant, advanced through to manager while continuing my education and then became one of the treating therapists at the clinic. It is a fast-paced job as we help so many in our community. The work culture is fun, we laugh every single day! It is great working for a team that looks for the right individuals that thrive in the team the company has worked hard to develop over the years. 

The coworkers at Leading Edge were awesome. The atmosphere was really upbeat and fast paced, which was good but also very stressful at times. 
I was an administrative assistance there. I feel it is an underpaid position; you don’t get benefits until after a year of being there and when asking for a raise it takes months to get a response. You don’t get breaks at all (including a lunch break) so most days you barely get to eat. That clearly shows how much they care about their employees. 
Unless you want to work for min pay with no benefits and no breaks I wouldn’t recommend working here. 

I have been working with Leading Edge Physiotherapy for almost 5 years now after being introduced to the company as a patient. The culture, and sense of community within the clinic was something I wanted to be a part of. With little experience in the  field, Leading Edge took me on as a member of the team and invested their time, knowledge, and skills into my development to ensure I would be successful in my new role as a physiotherapy assistant. 

The atmosphere within the clinic is great, and the people you get to work alongside are the best! A great place to work within a very rewarding field! 


Leading Edge is a Clinic that emphasizes inclusivity and a family atmosphere. From the minute you start with the company you feel the family atmosphere they strive to have within the company! You feel welcome and heard by your coworkers and management. Leading edge also emphasizes the importance of giving back to the community in many different ways. You can truly see the passion the company has for giving back to the community and it is amazing to see. I can’t say enough positive things about this company they truly are a clinic I’d recommend. 

I worked as a physio assistant and got no support or feedback about performance. I was required of caring for way too many patients at once and was criticized for not keeping up but the other workers there would sit around and never help and when I asked for help they refused. I was visibly stressed but never got any help, I was exhausted after work. The place is cliquey and it is made obvious if someone doesn’t like you and others will follow in their footsteps. No benefits until after working for a year. Would not recommend.

Great team and overall good job.  The company does a lot for the community, however, the company refuses to give its employees breaks (I've worked 16 hour days without even a 15 minute break) and doesn't offer benefits or health insurance of any kind.  Employees are also very underpaid considering the amount of work they do.  Unless you work there as a physiotherapist, you don't matter and you're disposable.

If you thrive in  a fast paced, fun and engaging environment you will love working here!  When I started I had little to no experience in the physio world other than attending it myself in the past. I was interested in helping people, making them laugh, learning new skills and most importantly enjoying going to work! There’s lots to learn and no shortage of support to help you learn and grow in this field. Most days really do feel like going to hangout with good company!
