Working at Little Footprints Academy was an experience filled with highs and lows. While the camaraderie among coworkers was exceptional, and the children brought joy every day, several significant drawbacks marred the overall experience.

Firstly, the pay was dishearteningly low, especially considering the demanding nature of the job and the responsibilities entrusted to staff members. It made it challenging to make ends meet and led to feelings of undervaluation for the hard work put in.

Secondly, the lack of training from upper management was a notable issue. Without proper guidance and support, navigating the complexities of childcare management became even more daunting. It often felt like I were left to fend for myself supporting teachers on my own, which could be stressful and frustrating.

Another stresser was the lack of hiring enough teachers when the centre was opening more and more classrooms. The constant change of moving children to different rooms to stay within ratio confused children and parents a like. Asking the director and hiring manager for more staff to cover rooms and breaks fell on deaf ears.

I really wanted to like this place but just couldn't. 

PROS: Little Footprints has been a great place to work. All staff and management are very supportive. This company provides fun training days for all staff to grow and develop as caretakers. There are also lots of staff parties and lunches- I love the workplace culture here. The wages are higher than other daycares I’ve worked at and the benefits here are great. So far, I am extremely happy with the workplace environment. 

CONS: While it has been difficult to get time off approved due to the shortage of quality ECEs, I enjoy what I do and have had a positive experience working with this company. I work at the New West location (I can’t speak to their other locations) and it gets quite busy. The hours are demanding and when staff call in sick, we are expected to work a bit harder. However, management is doing what they can to bring in more teachers.

The environment with the children, staff and families are amazing. The environment with management is unfair and very stressful.

With the children we had fun learned a lot of new things and it was great

I have worked at Little Footprints for the past few years and I love working for them. They recognize hard work, dedication, and commitment; Your efforts never go unnoticed, and you can expect to be rewarded fairly. The staff here are kind and supportive of each other. I feel truly grateful to be a part of such a positive and energetic team. While I have only been here for the past 3 years, there are many staff who have been with Little Footprints for 10+ years. They are always ready to provide you with the support, guidance, and tools necessary to succeed within this company. 

Good place to work. Some children can be difficult but it comes with work. Have to follow all policies put in place by management. Sometimes when multiple staff gets sick you have to put in extra effort. Current manager is great and supportive. They are opening new centers so lots of opportunities for growth. Wages are above average. Vacations are limited and have to be booked in advance unless its an emergency.

Terrible place to work, the company is very messy. The owner opens a centre then never looks back and when the centre is in need of help there is not help to give (looking at you NW). Everyone is underpaid (including management) and asking for time off or sick pay will never happen. Rarely... RARELY get paid on time as we have to wait for the payroll team to wake up (because they are in India). Overall? Don't work here it's awful, no one is happy find somewhere else! 

LFA is overall a great place to work. Lately, certain days have been getting stressful due to staff shortages. However, management is working to resolve the issue. Aside from that, they are very supportive. Coworkers are friendly and supportive.
