What is the best part of working at the company?
Working here gave me the opportunity to support many individuals in the community and connect or collaborate with other agencies to support the folks we serve in the community. I loved working with London Cares. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part of working for agencies like London Cares is we are not getting paid enough for the continuous hard and mental work we do daily. Though I love this kind of work it can burn you out pretty quick if you are not careful 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's a very all around inclusive atmosphere to work in. I didn't ever feel like I was being judged. 


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Bust very busy I did outreach so I was always on the move walking in the community and connecting with folks and meeting them where they were at. Helping in the moment and also trying to help folks achieve small goals like finding somewhere to get a meal, making phone calls to their workers from other connecting agencies. Finding somewhere to sleep for the night. Just talking with folks getting to know them making them feel wanted and not alone in their struggles making sure the feelings they shared were valid and showing we cared.

Working with London Cares has been a positive and meaningful experience overall. The team is very flexible and understanding, which makes balancing work and personal life much easier. The people I’ve worked with are genuinely kind, supportive, and passionate about helping others, which creates a welcoming and inclusive environment. Communication is usually open, and teamwork is encouraged, making every shift feel purposeful. I’ve learned a lot about community support and gained valuable hands-on experience working with diverse individuals in need.

However, one area that could be improved is stability—both in terms of scheduling and long-term opportunities. While flexibility is appreciated, more consistent hours or clearer scheduling would help staff feel more secure and supported. Overall, London Cares is a great organization to be part of if you value compassion, teamwork, and flexibility, but it would benefit from offering more predictable structure and stability to its employees.


The work itself and clients are great. Unfortunately, the employment is ruined by very inexperienced management who have barely hit age of maturity. Management would far prefer someone who says "yes" over someone who is a free thinker or tries to think outside the box. Management will happily encourage the ideology of those with narrow vision who sometimes are simply louder, not more knowledgeable. They typically only promote those who start spending their free time with management outside of work hours.

It's very sad that Cares has the potential to do great work, just terribly run and managed. It's why they have been forced into employing anyone who simply applies as anyone with credibility knows of its reputation.

The participants and a few staff 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management levels, ages and skills sets of management.  They want yes people only without skills or knowledge to keep employees or participants safe. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic environment with staff and management. They tend to listen to one person not several when making difficult decisions 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Everyday is different never the same situation. You need to be quick on your feet  be ahead of any situation.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people whom live there (residential, clients) 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I think the bonds that are formed and the barriers that are placed by the government to help them succeed the way they wish to ! There are so many roadblocks or the process to make changes is slow so it becomes disheartening for the residents to fight for the changes they desire. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Its nice, there is Potential to make deep connections

What you see is not always what you get! Some people will be nice to your face then stab you in the back. Some management and staff feel threatened by others ideas and education. London Cares YA RIGHT! I thought so to but not the case when staff support is needed but instead they toss you out like garbage when you need there support the most. What a way to treat staff after all the trauma on the job and the good work only to be disrespected. Very fake people, watch your back.

Meeting participants. You do get attached to them really quickly

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Doing HIFISing every day as paper work as well as getting people paper ready.

It was toxic and everyone was super close with each other 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Going out into community and responding to calls

Have been working at London Cares for a good number of years now. Have been through multiple positions and overall it has been a great experience! there are pros and cons to every work place but out of all the social service jobs I have had, this has been the best one. Good pay, good benefits, and supportive management. There is plenty of room for growth and many chances for different learning experiences. 

The job can be a bit stressful at times, but the coworkers, coordinators and managers are great at debriefing and following up with Frontline staff to ensure we are all doing okay. There are counseling services available to staff in case we feel it's needed as well. Management is always open to feedback and trying new ideas, which makes staff feel like their voices are being heard.

Working with people experiencing homelessness is incredible difficult, but the coworkers and managers make it worth it! Some people struggling to work at this agency are usually experiencing burnout, lack strong personal boundaries, or are unprofessional. If you show up ready to work hard and maintain a positive attitude, most likely you will enjoy this agency.
