Minutes Solutions has an unrealistic training program. While I’m appreciative for the manual they provide so you understand the logistics and importance of taking minutes, the fact you are unpaid for your labour while still expected to make deadlines is inequitable. After taking quizzes where you can retake the quizzes if you like, you are asked to complete 3 practicums. If you’re unsuccessful at any of the practicums, you’re not compensated for your time. Even if you are successful, you receive $100 for more than 20+ hours of work; this is far below minimum wage. The manual is quite long and the practicums take time to complete. In my experience, after scoring three percent below the passing grade for the second practicum, I was rejected twice despite moving on from the incident right after without contacting them. The rejection came in the form of first letting me know Minutes Solutions didn’t have the resources to support me after I failed my second practicum and then in the form of an email six days later to confirm I was rejected. For a company that demands urgency from their employees, they appear laidback as to when they get back to you and when they pay you. This is an immediate power imbalance and not a great way to start a relationship between employer and employee. That’s what I call unethical and the beginning of a corporate hierarchy. I do not recommend Minutes Solutions unless you are willing to take what you’ve learned and become employed elsewhere. 

For most people, the interview process for this company will be a complete waste of time. Training is unpaid unless they make you an offer but even then, it's only $100 for hours for the work. You go through modules to learn their rules and formatting, then you get tested on the material. After that, they send you three mock assignments that will be graded with feedback sometime in the week after you submit. Each of these assignments will take at least a few hours of your time (including the time it takes to watch the meeting and take notes). For the first two, you need to make at least 80% and 90% for the last one. Aside from the feedback at the end of each assignment, there is no support during the learning process. At the end of it, if you don't pass, you don't even get the $100. It was the worst training program I have ever had to slog through and that's including that one job where they kept missing payments before I finally quit.

Maybe it's okay if you can get through that part but if you value your time, I wouldn't bother.

If you are not in a hurry to start work this company might be good for you?
From the moment I applied, I heard back within a week and had an interview right away. The recruiter I dealt with was great and the training course was good - longer than they explained. There are multiple steps just to start work. 1 online test on their website, then an interview followed by training with 3 quizzes. THEN! You have a test and 3 practicums. I took the test and it took 6 days for it to be marked. From there I was supposed to do 3 more practicums. I had already been involved for over 3 weeks at this point with another 3 or more to go before working and who knows how much longer until getting paid. If you are not in a hurry for money, then give it a go. But I was not willing to spend almost 2 months of my time before getting paid and going through training.

I have worked for MS since 2017. Management is helpful, kind and truly cares about people. The job is not difficult and all the people I work with are great. The best thing about this job is that it can be done from anywhere. And even though I live far from the city, I still feel like I am part of something really awesome. I have told so many of my friends about this company and will continue to do so. 

Really great part time/contract work. Take the meetings you want, and earn extra bonuses if you do more than 3 meetings. Must have good attention to detail and time management. The work itself (attending the meetings) is very low stress and easy, but you have to finish your minutes accurately and quickly on your own time. Great work and great company.

Working at Minutes Solutions has been great. Expectations are fair without management regularly breathing down your neck. Additionally, you are given a lot of freedom and trust which removes a lot of the work stress that comes with working at many other companies.

The more you work, the easier it will be for you to develop the knack for minute taking. You can easily do this in combination with a full-time job.
