Having to work alone. Extensive work load.

Family oriented with respect and understanding of family needs. 
Close knit teams within different branches of the organization. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
High level of administrative work along with front facing duties. Being a smiling, positive advocate for the clients

There were some fantastic people and clients in this job. I made some great business connections that helped me after I left. Much of the staff at the North Location weren't approachable, and one was so intimidating it was border line bullying.

When I got to work at the other location staff was always welcoming. In all if would have stayed if I was at the South location.

Terrible, mean upper management who felt it was reasonable to criticize a person with a learning disability who required minor accommodations in order to complete their very difficult ICM training. Even after passing the month long training, they determined that the person was probably not able to do the job without given them a chance to try. 
A very stuffy corporate culture that is not inclusive or empathetic.

never a dull moment, always a challenge, great learning.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and full of energy, like a bee colony

Upper management has been tripping over themselves for years trying to fix what isn’t broken. New managers come in, try all the usual fixes, change staff job titles as an excuse to get rid of people they don’t like, particularly those with strong union ties, then the new managers quit or get fired and it starts all over.  Company does not now how to manage. Staff are left picking up the pieces. 

It’s sad to say that the management defines the culture and creates a divisive work environment. The province has contributed to the culture by making it a fee for service business model. The goal is no longer in providing best client services but on creating most income possible for the company

I thoroughly enjoyed my summer employment at GG, it was a great learning experience, and the staff were friendly and helpful. 
Working with clients was exceptionally rewarding - first they have no trust in you and believe you are unhelpful or unwilling to help (mental health clients) but as they begin to know and trust you, a relationship is built .

supportive and fun work environment. Staff and management are some of the best people I have encountered. The programs facilitated are great and you get to do fun activities with clients such as hiking and dragon boat racing

I have worked for Open Door Group for 14 years. They are the best employer I have worked for! I have ongoing professional development and many opportunities to advance. 

Potential for a great career, IF you enjoy working with nepetism, no respect for employee feedback..seen as defensive.  No training consistency...then it's the employee's fault if work is not as they expect.
