If I were to rate this workplace on a scale of 0-10, it would rank on the lower end. The organization lacks adequate staff training and preparation, leaving employees not equipped for their roles. Additionally, the administrative team demonstrates unprofessional behavior, often failing to respond to messages in a timely manner or ignoring them altogether.

The team leader exhibits a lack of respect for employees, engaging in unprofessional behavior such as gossiping about staff members and maintaining inappropriate relationships with colleagues. Scheduling issues are frequent and chaotic, with confusion about assigned shifts and overlapping schedules. Despite these errors, accountability is consistently lacking.

Furthermore, management fails to address serious concerns such as workplace bullying and employee complaints. There is also a refusal to compensate staff for overtime, which further undermines morale.

I would strongly recommend seeking employment with an organization that values and respects its workforce. Unfortunately, this workplace does not meet those standards and is not a conducive environment for professional growth or well-being.

Unprofessional and unsupportive team leader management. Some staff and team leader management are cliquey. Staff that are favoured don’t seem to have any consequences for their poor work ethic and conduct. Threats of disciplinary action for no reason and undermining workers from some team leader management, if you don’t agree with them. Or if your opinions don’t align with their agenda. 
Lack of or no communication from management to staff. Staffs concerns, not taken seriously by team lead management. Put in  unsafe situations that is outside the scope of a child and youth worker, and expected to work under these conditions without any backup support. Depressing place to work due to all of the above. A few bad apples, spoil the bunch unfortunately otherwise it could be a great company to work for. HR and Upper Management for this company is good. 

I have never had an employer care so little about their staff. This is definitely a private organization that cares more about money and less about their staff or the individuals they serve. I would recommend not wasting your time and applying with other similar organizations in the area. In my handful of years I saw many staff come and go and often feeling like they were not cared for or treated with respect. While the Team Leaders care about their youth when you hear them talk behind closed doors about the other staff you can't help but cringe and wonder how they talk about you. This is definitely an agency filled with drama and chaos.

When youth are at school or visiting family and you on your free time you get sent to other houses to fil in, because company doesn’t want to call casuals or hire extra help
You get burnt out faster

Depends which house one working in, can be toxic

I feel valued and appreciated, with a strong sense of purpose rooted in making a meaningful difference in children’s lives. The organization’s caring culture and dedication to teamwork create a rewarding and compassionate work environment.

Work can be hard, but they have many things in place most agencies don't! Very structured approach, good benefit packages for staff, very highly regarded agency. Lots of support when you need it....don't understand some reviews, except I know they won't hesitate to let someone go if they don't work well with children. A very fulfilling experience!

Lots of training and mentoring provided by very experienced team leaders. They relate well with the parents of the children. The job can be tough at times, but the results you see on the children are amazing. Very safe and supportive environments. A great place to work!

With an ongoing workplace education program this company strives for the best possible you. Managers are supportive and reassuring. Work place is friendly, professional.In the industry of caring for children this company supports the needs of various levels of care for the youth in care. It is a rewarding and fulfilling position working for Orenda.
