I am a current employee of the Airdrie Transit team. We are lead by one of the most respectfull managers that I have ever work for. He is fair and expects the best out of his people and supports them to achieve their goals and successes by training, communication and most importantly is as honest as they come, yes he is tough on his people but respects them and there capabilities to do the job. The drivers I work with are given training on a regular basis to makes sure they are at their highest level of professionalism when it comes to operating buses and more importantly providing the highest level of safety for the coustomer. I have work for a number of transit companies and most recently the previous operator but can tell you PWT ( Airdrie) is a company that not only talks about their company core values but lives by them and that’s why we all love our jobs and feel so strong. Airdrie team is a story of success and that goes out to the drivers, supervisors and management team that made it that..

What is the best part of working at the company?
the lead mechanic is very helpful, the drivers are willing to help, when a unit is down and first and foremost the Pay Rate

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
6 different people trying to Show you how they do the WFA's, you have to through the channels to order Even local parts, access to your work is open, they can and will change work order entries, or completely void jobs you/ve entered on the work orders, meeting showed how top heavy this company is. management wise  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
do good and they want more. saying it's part of the job without giving you full job description, to order parts is crazy, 4 different people in order parts and You Need a Work Order to get this parts

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
hit the ground running, in this site (Prince Rupert) your by your self, need to wait for some one to show for certain jobs Not Good

Working with other employees was great. They had a bunch of dedicated people working there. To bad the operations manager is nothing but a power hungry, disrespectful, back stabbing person. They have lost very senior bus drivers because they can no longer take how they are being treated. All they care about is money! The drivers are not supported, they are not properly trained, safety is a big issue due to not being trained properly, and if they can terminate someone and hire someone at a lesser wage, they do! Even after going to the top person in the company, nothing was done. They don’t care about safety, yet it’s all over there company profile, they just care about profit.  I think Airdrie Transit should wake up. Just take the operations in house, they will be much better off. Stay away, you can do much better! It’s a game to them.

I've been with this company for almost a year.  I've never experienced such a  supportive and positive work environment.
The management and supervisory roles, are held by two very professional and skilled individuals.  Support of staff as well as thorough training, are ongoing.
The staff culture is close, very much like a family, and we are all supportive of one another, particularly in the last 6 months. Any sort of conflict, is easily overcome and worked through.
Job and life balance is excellent, for the most part, and our manager and supervisor, try very hard to ensure that we have that balance.
This company is very flexible, and there is room to advance, both upwardly and laterally.
Excellent place to work!

I've learned to be more patient and helpful, i also improved my organization skills and communication skills, my co-workers are very friendly, some are hard to deal with but in general, everyone's very nice, the hardest part of the job was being in difficult situations for example if the bus was very late, customers would get angry and they asked for a refund or sometimes i solved the problem by contacting the office or the bus to see where it is and the most enjoyable part of the job was dealing with customers, helping them and making sure they get to where they want by helping them out with the map and directions.

So many possibilities to advance or change directions within your career, awesome support and resources at your fingertips!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Busy environment with multiple projects on the go , but adequate time off and changes of routine to keep it fresh.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very much family oriented and quickly become your extended family. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Morning team meetings , project planning and implementation.

Working for this company for over 5 years now in Alberta. They have very good ground level employees that give their heart and souls to success but receive little to no support or recognition from management.. You will not advance or grow in this company much if at all. You must be part of the ol' boys club to get any due credit or advancement.. This is not the good company it used to be. You won't get proper tooling to do your job, you are always under the gun and often threatened to be fired if you complain too much or don't just do as youre told (even if it makes no sense).

It is a fun place to work.
Staff is great.  They are friendly and helpful.

always had a great day at the work place. We all worked as a team. Management was always help full. Sometimes the hardest part of the job was long days while doing tours that were on a very tight schedule. I  a lot while working here. Respect for co-workers, Work well as a team. Safety, Honor the rules of the company. Always be polite to customers, staff, co-workers. I really don't have anything to say about the hardest part of the job, But I truly enjoyed working each day for this company.
