This place underpays their staff and treats them horribly. Staff concerns are never heard unless the individual has been working there for years and management has favourites. Management is very unorganized, they lack structure and everything is very unprofessional and they lack communication skills as well. This place is like an elementary school because staff and management’s behaviour is extremely juvenile. The poor residents do not deserve this and I believe that their physical and mental health would be better if they hired better management, PSWs and nurses. It’s a joke of an organization. 

As a not for profit PHM faces many challenges but the staff do the best with what they have and genuinely care about the residents and clients!  There has been a lot of change in upper management for the better.  It is now a collaborative team where your voice and opinion are heard and counts. Gone is the cliquey favouritism based style leader and her toxic followers.
If you care about making a difference and working with others that are there for the residents then PHM is a great place to work.

Work place culture was horrible. No work life balance. Management did not follow policy and picked on people. HR was even worse. By far the most toxic work environment I have ever worked in. You want to be stabbed in the back and talked about by your peers then this is the place for you. These residents deserve so much  more, I feel terrible for them, as they are the only good thing that came from that place. 

Very poor and lazy  management at apt program. Wages for senior staff are bad.  The psw floor staff make more then the senior staff supervisor.  How crazy is that?! Very poor leadership and guidance from executive director and the management  at apt program hides information and lies about stuff.  A very toxic environment and it’s the clients who suffer from the poor management. 

Poor management support, management cannot even get the staff schedule right, so there will be times that no staff are scheduled to work and management has no idea until the last minute. 

Staff has to work more than one shift straight because no staff is available to come to work.

It's not a good environment to work in the hours are long and the pay is low. HR has not the slightest idea what they are doing. They are not for the staff they are for themselves. Will never recommend anyone to work here unless you don't value your self. 

This is a productive environment to work in. There is much professional development provided, so it is beneficial to any employee. The management team really cares about its employees. 

Participation House provides a wonderful work environment. You get to meet all kinds of people including residents, PSW's and other management staff. They were very welcoming and allow staff at all levels to work independently.

The team is a compassionate group of people who believe in doing what's right. The managers work hard at fostering an environment that is respectful, inclusive and promotes accountability. Its a busy place, there's lots to do but the work in meaningful.

Participation House is a great work environment. It provides you with the opporunity to support an organization that is doing meaningful work in the world. Management was kind and the residents were amazing!
