I was super excited to work here since I used to visit all the time as a kid, but these new owners have changed the environment for the worse. The owners treat their staff so poorly.

It starts off in the honeymoon phase where they distract you from the truth, with their "farm-ily" facade. Then they slowly lift their mask off and show you their true colours and business practices.

They overwork their employees while underappreciating them and then wonder why they have such a high turnover rate. The owners and upper management constantly victimize themselves. They refuse to believe that they could be the issue, so they blame everyone else for it.

There are extreme double standards for their favourites ex: working from home, getting vacation time approved, etc. And they are not very understanding when it comes to leaving early (due to health reasons, appointments, etc)

Save your time and energy, no one deserves to be treated the way they treat their staff!

I had applied here numerous times because I had happy memories as a kid there but I found myself rather disappointed in the work environment. The hours are piddly - the ad I applied to said 20-40 hours a week. I was just scheduled weekends (4-6 hours per day).

I worked a weekend where we had a scary emergency situation happen, and I did my best to help navigate the new route for the wagon pick up, but was later taken away and thrown into a shack to stuff rubber duckies. This after I dragged this heavy bag of rubber duckies across the field, and inhaled box dust - which wasn't good for my asthma by the way!

Their scheduling is also very mediocre and changes constantly. Sometimes you don't know if you're working at all until the day actually comes because they changed it so often on me.

I spent most of my time working in the Playland area, it was nice to be outside with fresh air. I just wish the experience was a little more positive because now I'm left with disappointment from a place where I once found joy and solace.

Overall I was there a month and that was enough. 

When you sign your contract with Pingle’s you sign your life away. You have to be available for them round the clock and if you try to ask for time off, they will stop giving you hours. 

The upper management micromanages your every move and are expected to work long hours in all elements and not compensated or thanked for it, while they sit around and have meetings in the ac or heat. They claim they want to make customers happy but all they want is their money and do everything they can to make their employees miserable.

They dangle bonuses if you work all your scheduled shifts and then don’t come through with a bonus.

The turnover is high and should have been my first red flag. People walk on eggshells and quit after they are told do more with no extra money or literal cents extra. 

No work life balance if you work here.

At the beginning it was amazing, everything was going well. They took me off the schedule for not showing respect or jumping in to help. 

I am respectful completely, never had an issue with a company before. I told them I don’t feel comfortable wearing a costume as I am pregnant and I rather not share coats with co workers and get sick. 

I contacted them multiple times regarding it and then 4 days later the responded. They don’t show respect at all. It took a long time to get paid, it was constantly me being the one to ask them to pay me etc. 

I gave each and every customer an amazing experience, I don’t want to bombard people and be over the top as I want them to experience the farm alone. But clearly that wasn’t good enough. 

If you don’t want to get paid correctly, wait a long time to be paid and have management show lack of respect. I would not work here. It’s very unfortunate that I am writing this.

A typical day includes cashing people out, stocking shelves with produce, handing out flyers, and bagging apples. I learned that working for a small business like this one means you will not receive anywhere near the normal amount of employee benefits.  I also learned how to deal with a horrible boss.  The management is borderline cruel and booking a day off is nearly impossible.  The hardest part of the job was standing outside in the rain for hours  on end bagging apples and being yelled at for so much as leaning against a table.  The workplace culture is filled with deep resentment towards the boss that helps unify other workers.  The most enjoyable part of this job was leaving.  If you want to really appreciate every future job you have, this is the job for you.

The beginning days of Pingle's farm was great until they hired an HR for the kitchen. An HR for a kitchen is absurd, especially when they have zero kitchen experience or background in cooking. 
The CEO, management, and HR had ZERO credibility in the culinary world. But they will expect you to be on top of your game, follow orders, and clock-out on time.

Expect language barriers, low wages, little respect for your skill, and poor communication habits. Most of the senior staff is gone. If you plan to work here. Walk in with your Chef hat with the intent to dramatically restructure the kitchen and take over. The CEO is a guppy in the business and culinary world with a stubborn attitude. 

Shiny looking but deeply SOUR within. 
Greedy, uncaring owners that focus solely on the money and how to work the hardest, dedicated staff to the brink while the peripheral staff are overworked, untrained and discarded seasonally.  Poor hours, pour communication leave staff on eggshells and under prepared to tackle the crowds. Somehow they actually have good people doing the daily work - so they are fun to work with. But high stress, expectations, understaffing and long hours make the employees bitter before long.  High Turnover. The owners expect every ounce that you have to give and couldn't care less what toll it takes on you/your family or your personal well being.  Give your skills to someone who deserves them - not this place!

As it is only a seasonal job, you work for a short amount of time which is beneficial as a student but in terms of training and customer interaction, it is difficult. Training for some is harder to pick up than others. In the bakery, for example, you have to memorize the prices of all the items which becomes easier with more experience. For customer interaction, that is the highest stress part. September- October is so extremely busy on the weekends because it is a farm. From my experience in the bakery, you MUST be able to handle stress otherwise this job is not right for you. You have lines out the door from open to close and on top of that there are always annoyed customers to deal with.

I'm retired but still young. I applied for this job nearby my home and started in August 2023.  

I really enjoy the various jobs around the farm, being in the sun and getting in lots of physical activity.   Especially I love seeing so many happy families and children who enjoy the events, the flower and lavender fields , Playland, Pick-your-own fruit/veggies and other attractions they offer.   

Managers are great, flexible and support your work life balance and recognize work well done!  There are slow days where the jobs include a few boring but necessary tasks, but over-all a wonderful part-time job for students, retirees and others looking for flexible hours throughout the week.

The farm it self is a lovely place to work having it be in an outdoor environment and the lower level management are supportive as much as they can be…but that’s where it ends. Hours are never consistent. For the price of what they charge customers owners should consider how to keep their staff. Constant turn over and short staffing resulting in over worked and underpaid employees.
