This company is not recommended in good conscience due to management's inability to fulfill commitments and undervaluation of specialized staff, resulting in low morale and decreased service quality. The culture is demotivating, leading to ineffective communication, poor customer service, and high staff turnover.

Significant management turnover in head office has created instability and a lack of consistent leadership, further impacting employee confidence in the company's ability to provide quality services. These problems can be attributed to the company's expansion strategy of acquiring multiple radio companies too quickly, leading to difficulties in managing operations across various locations and neglecting customer relationships.

The company has made several payroll deduction changes and mistakes for benefits and the RRSP plan, resulting in frustration among employees and negatively impacting the leadership reputation with staff.

New managers/directors struggle to navigate the existing problems and implement effective solutions, leading to more undelivered commitments to the staff. The President/CEO seems to prioritize her professional image over employee well-being, evident in the pretend culture policy. It is not a place where employees would want to stay for long.

Working at Prairie Mobile is a double edged sword. On th eone hand, the customer relations you can build are great, and offer a great reason to come back. And the premise of the job is inheretedly simple. Sell phones, and make sure Customers are happy.
However, this comes at the great expense of dealing with a ton of mental stress from assisting with customers, having to do tasks that are either being shoved down your throat, or are morally questionable.
The main issues come from the Higher Management, as they seem very disconnected from their stores, and dont actually understand how each store operates, or why things happen the way they do. The demand that they see their way done, and will not tolerate any exceptions or delays, yet expect it from their own staff...
For the most part your co-workers are competent and know what they are talking about, and even can do some great teamwork to ensure the best experience possible for customers.

There is also a tad bit of hypocrisy found in this job, and things that just do not make sense.
If you are a student, for example, do not think that you will be able to do your homework or projects during the slow time on the job. It is not allowed, at all.
As well, be prepared to be requested to do the tasks of 4 people, by the higher management.

A great spot to start in the industry if you need a job.  You sell devices and service upgrades to customers based on their needs... Its awesome when you find your customer the right device and make them happy. Bundling products really does save them money and that is good to do.  You have to ask the customers for Google reviews... The CEO is very nice but the culture manual they had made is make-believe and they don't follow it... the leadership makes you feel like a number and you get reminded how you are replaceable. They are all very accessible from lower to senior management (you can message anybody) but they don't care about your opinion or do anything with it! Head office makes drastic policy changes at-will with no input from anyone.  The surveys are not anonymous and are just used to find who is next to be shown to the door... HR will share anything you send them with your manager so be ready for that if you tell them anything...  And nobody can figure out why the head office staff is always being replaced. 

Morning starts off with quick staff huddles were we discuss challenges and celebrate successes. Set daily sales targets and assign tasks.
Read emails, handle customer escalations or staff issues promptly.
Coach and work on staff development, help staff achieve their targets. 
Work with warehouse in inventory management, churn and shrinkage investigation.
Work with accounting and administration for daily sales reports, cash management and accounts receivable.
Hardest part was to create a positive environment sometimes due to few gossipers.
Loved the technology, brought me great satisfaction in educating customers, providing solutions, seeing them leave happy and return for more. Really liked coaching and mentoring staff and help them be successful leaders

Worst place to work at, they treat their employees like trash and pick favourites, don’t get anything done or listen to the people. Head Office is trash and HR tells everybody’s business to the managers and doesn’t keep employee complains private. Managers are extremely unprofessional and lazy. When I was working there the manager would be watching videos or sitting on Facebook all day long brings really obnoxious. The hygiene of some managers was a real concern to the employees and customers there were complains made to the head office but nothing was done. It came to the point where a manager didn’t even wash their hands or flush the toilet after using it and then going and touching everything in the building and customers belongings. If you want to get sick and be grossed out this is a perfect place to work for you. Good luck!

I learned a lot about cellular technology. I was head of corporate sales. It was tough to get along with co-workers as it was a cut-throat sales position. I learned to really be on my toes so as to not have any of my potential sales taken by another co-worker. The hardest part of this job was finding new clients, the most enjoyable part of this job was actually finding new clients.

In my experience Prairie is not like other companies who treat you like a number rather than a person. If you work hard and are straight forward with your goals, management will put together a game plan and help you execute regardless of the path you choose. At times the job can be challenging and fast faced, but leadership makes you feel supported and at home. They are all very accessible from lower to senior management. Overall a fantastic place to work.  

Cashouts, inventory counts,helping customers, scheduling, training.
Learned about technology and merchandising.  Management was not available to support as my Regional manager did not know how to use the Sasktel or invoicing systems. I was trained by another manager who was always scattered and made many errors.  The company culture had a very negative under tone and employees seemed unhappy.  The lack of proper training manuals, documentation made parts of the job difficult as well as schedule.  I enjoyed learning about the technology.

A typical day of work for me would be to start work at 5AM, drive to the jobsite, work quite often outdoors which wasn't a problem usually, finish up and possibly do another job in the area.  I averaged 5000Km per month and long days.

I liked the people I worked with but found that management was totally out of touch with what the employees had to deal with.


I have worked for this company for almost 10 years. There are many opportunities for growth, if you are willing to work hard and put time and effort into achieving them. Most roles are 8am-5pm, but technical roles can often include paid overtime work dependent on customer schedules.
