a typical day at work

If you have 10 things on your todo list for Monday, you will also have a morning meeting, a few hours after to focus, and some afternoon meetings as well. You may get 5 things marked off of your list, but you will inevitably have to bring 2-5 things home with you or stay until 3-6PM wrapping everything up. Overall, compensation and talent is competitive. People will try to pull you in different directions. If your leadership does not set priorities, it can feel like you are stranded in an ocean with no direction to shore. Give me a speed boat and a map, and I will get to the shore fast.

what you learned

I have learned that most decisions are data driven. There are infinite sources of data and slicing that data such that you can make informed decisions for the organization will prevent false starts and fast fails. It will also help set the directions & priorities for yours and others teams. Also, everyone is in the 5000/1000000 (.5%). The people are smart, diverse, and driven. They will play to win so be prepared to outwork your peers if you want to be succesful.

Everyones management styles are different. I have worked with people who are hands on and hands off. There are pros and cons to most. Hands off gives the freedom to do what you believe needs to be done to achieve the business result. Hands on can be overwhelming sometimes when things are on "fire". Having to explain failures while failures are occurring. Having 10 things you need to do and 10 things your boss needs you to do. Sometimes agendas can be conflicting, but the HIPPO (Highest Paid Persons Opinion) always wins...

workplace culture

The location I work at has local competition (even across the street). People who are not performing are coming and going. Do not let this hinder your outlook on the company. This is noise. The culture is average. Some people love it, some people not so much. Everyone's experience is different. 

the hardest part of the job

The hardest part about my job is the time management factor. You have 24 hours of work to get done in 10 hours. How can you do things faster? Smarter? Better?

the most enjoyable part of the job

Rewards and recognitions. Giving rewards, giving recognitions, receiving rewards, receiving recognitions. Offsites are fun. Business reviews are fun. Benchmarking trips are fun.

At first I loved it, then I started to see that management was only interested in "yes men", showing favoritism to people that had no issues sucking up as well as trying to put people under the bus as its a very competitive work environment in a unhealthy way. They pull crooked stuff when they want you out but have no actual cause to terminate someone. I have never seen this at any other job, it was strain on my mental health and was not worth the better wage to be completely honest. They let me go over my Facebook because I had some meme's they did not care about. That's how petty P&G is when they want you gone. The Belleville facility is filled with lots of leaders that like to hear them selves talk, especially the department leader for FPH, and all I can say is give it 5 months maximum and you will see it yourself. There are several people that warned me prior to my start date however I was blinded by the amazing wage that I didn't stop to investigate the work culture, so much so that I had to get in touch with a lawyer about mistreatment and false accusations on the companies behalf that even the lawyer had run ins with them prior, my own family doctor had patients at P&G with similar stories and how the company will try and punish you if you need time off or limitations or adjusted work. There is stuff I seen that was so crooked that it had me very concern and when I have tried to inform HR about these issues with lower leadership they turned the other way and swept it under the rug. Do yourself a favor and check somewhere else for employment, go to school or do something else entirely P&G Belleville is a shadow of the American P&G facilities. They treat the Adecco's horribly as well, it was something that was hard to witness and if you went to defend the Adecco's your peers would shun you. Horrible work culture, only benefit is the pay.

I worked for this company for a number of years. As a 3rd party temp and as a Plant Associate(P&G Temp) which has  you on a 2 year contract, with a 50/50 of getting it renewed or not. Just like another review posted on here, the poster mentions that as a temp, you will be doing tasks that a Plant Technician (Permanent) will be doing. Just with less pay. You don't get much vacation time. You get benefits, but its basically a reimbursement. Pay first and get your money back 2 weeks later. You also don't get stocks unlike Technicians.

The hiring process is ridiculous. If your a temp and you want to become a Plant Technician. You have to get support from your team, and department manager. And that just gets you into writing an aptitude test. Pass that, you have to pass an interview. Fail the test and you repeat the process... After waiting a year from when you wrote the test.

People abuse the system, and spread rumors about their coworkers. It's almost like high school. Except you get paid to be there and the government has their hands in your pockets. Leaders also provide false feedback... Or don't give any feedback. If your a temp, don't be expected to be included in daily tasks unless it involves cleaning up other peoples messes or stacking product. You'll be stuck in one spot for your duration of contract. With little chances to switch to other departments.

HR favors technicians over temps. I was harassed and bullied and asked to be move from the department and my request wasn't serious enough. And the person doing the bullying got a slap on the wrist cause he had 30 years of employment on me. 

There is a huge lack of communication between lines, managers and other departments. Huge experience gaps.

If your going to apply to P&G do it as a production associate and get a feel for the environment and then take it from there.

I have to make this post because if you have real potential, good head on your shoulders and work hard it goes unnoticed a lot and you get stuck for years. But hey you might get your name on a TV for a month. 

Your co workers on rotating shifts will be the life blood of whether you enjoy the job or not. Have no issues with co workers and they make it fun to work there because you spend so much time together. 

Management is a huge issue around the plant though. Most don’t do much with their role or offer support whatsoever. It’s crash or burn there with them and you’re just a body to them, most don’t see you as a human or push off any requests that you have regarding training/learning or advancement. 

On-boarding and whatnot make it seem like a big happy family, don’t be fooled by that and don’t actually train you for the real job you will be doing, just basic safety stuff to get you in. 

You can be stuck there in the same redundant role for years. Many currently want to leave but feel they can’t due to the pay and benefits the company offers. 

Also just mentioned, the positions are mainly only rotating shifts so that is also a huge thing to consider for stress and outside of work life (Kids, social time, sleep, personal). 

You have to work there for a lonnggggg time to even consider day shift or be an engineer fresh out of university to get the better positions. Those are the ones that feel they own the place and look down on any shift worker, even though they know less (For the most part).

 So yeah a bit toxic with management and the longer term people there. (That shows the job isn’t really worth it if you can’t be happy or have fun while doing it). 

This is a huge insight, but this is based off my own and also other workers (Current and Past) opinions, so feel free to form your own.  

Procter & Gamble is a great place to work! There are numerous learning and career advancement opportunities, as well as a strong focus on learning quickly and adding significant value.

The company strongly adhere's to it's PVPs, which attracts the best and brightest from all over. Lots of great perks and benefits to the job, including numerous team-building and cross-functional social events.

Being a promote-from-within company, management can be harder to persuade / convince to push the status quo and move to newer methodologies and technologies. The size of the company also makes it difficult to make quick change, which can mean more work hours at times.

Overall, the mentorship and breadth of experiences of P&G employees was astonishing and I learned so many skills, including Project Management, App Management, Business Transformation, and so much more! It is definitely a great place to develop lifelong skills and pursue a long-term career.

Sign into store, check if management is present for various departments and let them know you are there, walk the store for any opportunities for display or concerns, open conversation, present new info or promos, check program compliance or things that need to be done that is on the priority list, address any concerns, ask for what you want like display, close the sale. I learn alot on a continuous basis from managers in my accounts, managers and team leads from P&G, I learn to challenge myself more. I enjoy seeing my accounts on a monthly basis and look forward to offering them my passion and knowlege in the industry to help grow sales. The most enjoyable part of the job is talking about new and exciting product launches and getting new technology to make our jobs more efficient, easier, and effective. For example using the ipads in each sales call in the last 2 years.

What is the best part of working at the company?
P&G allows technicians the freedom to improve their own performance and skills with specialized training. They also encourage employees to develop and improve the equipment they are selected to operate. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working a continental shift. 12 hours rotating. Week 1 Monday Tuesday days off Wednesday Thursday  nights Friday Saturday Sunday. Week 2 off Monday Tuesday then days Wednesday Thursday. Week 3 opposite of week 1 and week 4 opposite to week 2

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Everyone has a place and purpose. The company works via servant leadership. The leadership works for you. Whatever you need they’re there to support you. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Meet outgoing shift, meeting with teammates and leaders. Plan events for the day whether routine or unplanned. Start regular activities on the line. If work is related to an outage or breakdown in your area you’re responsible to schedule maintenance and contractors to repair and restart the line.

Working as a Customer Service Representative at Procter & Gamble was a valuable and enriching experience. The company maintains a strong reputation for professionalism, innovation, and employee development, and my time there reflected these values. I appreciated the structured training programs, which equipped me with the skills to handle customer inquiries effectively while maintaining a high standard of service.

The work environment was collaborative and supportive, with team members and management encouraging open communication and continuous improvement. I also found the company’s emphasis on integrity and customer satisfaction to be genuinely embedded in its culture.

However, the role could sometimes be fast-paced and demanding, especially during peak periods, requiring strong time management and resilience. Overall, Procter & Gamble is an excellent organization for individuals seeking to build a solid foundation in customer service while growing professionally in a well-established global company.

A typical day at work would start off with a 30 minute team meeting explaining any unusual activities going on in our area of work ( IE. construction). Followed by a vehicle safety cheek lists. Then the day would involve driving to each production line to remove any and all recyclable materials, loading recycled materials into transport trucks for transportation and  unloading / loading any dangerous good coming in and or out of the plant. Employees are also responsible for keeping up with any online training that the plant provides and to find and fix any defects throughout there area of work on a shiftily bases.

The job itself pays very well. Advancement is almost impossible due too current workforce. Culture has shifted very negatively in recent years. There are too many people who work in office roles with zero help on the Production floor (which is were you actually make your money). Managers are lazy and entitled. The only time you see or hear from them is when things are going poorly, if things run well they are cant be seen or made available for career advancement opportunities. Most of them are new graduate hires with Zero days of real work experience. Accountability does not exist in the site. Lots of experience in the plant however they are not good leaders or are not pushed to be better. Workers becoming stressed, agitated and over worked. Expectations of workers are very high and are constantly being pushed to do more and sacrifice time however, the site doesn't have that expectation of itself. 
Who knows how long this Site will even be open in the next 5-10 years
