I worked at Richter’s Herbs as a seasonal Customer Service representative and had a really positive experience. Even though I had minimal experience in customer service going in, they gave me a chance, which I was really grateful for.

During my time there, I learned several useful skills, especially writing professional emails and speaking confidently over the phone. Management was very supportive, flexible, and respectful. They created a welcoming environment that made it easy to learn and ask questions.

The team was great to work with. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the work environment was calm and drama-free. The business is family-run, and the owners were always kind and approachable.

Working in Customer Service, I saw how much they care about their customers. They consistently go out of their way to make sure any issues are resolved quickly and fairly.

Overall, I’d recommend Richter’s Herbs to anyone looking for a supportive place to work or buy from. I had a great experience and felt valued during my time there.

Was fired for literally no reason, inquired about them letting me go and they hadn't given me any reason other than they could legally do so. The job security there whether a productive worker or not was nonexistent. Only temporary as they are seasonal which is okay, but the lack of care and job security whether you are a productive worker or not is a detriment. and hurting the overall production and mindset of the employees. Asked to do work not labeled on Indeeds description or in my personal employee contract, i.e; Being taken away from greenhouse to help build and labor with the construction of the bosses second house being remodeled.

What is the best part of working at the company?
A great third generation family-run business. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is always the possibility that traffic can cause delays in getting to delivery locations.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The company is small. People are personable and care about what they are doing. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Help load the truck and set off for regular delivery location.  Unload the truck and return. Very straight ahead.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great atmosphere and work environment, amazing/caring management and team members, opportunity for learning about gardening and herbs. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Sometimes there are deadlines that need to be met- but that is true of any workplace. And very doable. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depends on the area you work in.

Very poor management with a lot of gossip. Buildings are run down and dirty.  They expect a lot with very low wages and no benefits. Employees get fired out of the blue for no apparent reason, the only way to stay employed is if the office manager personally likes you. 

I really enjoyed working with plants and gaining knowledge. The work environment was less than ideal, extremely hot in the greenhouses. Management definitely needs to work on how they treat and manage their staff. 

If you love plants the positives may out weigh the negatives! 

Great collaboration and culture.  This company has been in operation for over 50 years successfully bringing unique and rare herbs to customers that would not find them elsewhere.  Taking care of customers is very enjoyable.

Ok for a summer job.  Zero support from HR
The girls in the greenhouse are really supportive and helpful    If you need to make money for school it’s ok    You can not support yourself of the wages they pay. 

Good if you need some extra pay during the summer. Probably the best job for college kids. But the temperate control in there is not great, so only do it if you have a high tolerance to heat. 

Extremely poor management, toxic environment top down. Excessive gossip coming from management. Would not recommend anyone work here in any department. Run, don't walk
