DO NOT WORK HERE!!!!! This company is a joke and needs to be shut down. You are pretty much a slave and nobody cares about you. They make you work 15 hour shifts overnight and expect you to come in again after 5 hours of sleep. Majority of the work is at night time.

You start your shift around 5pm. You have no idea what you are doing that shift until you get in and check the board. You do not get assigned a permanent truck and 90% of their trucks don't even have proper AC working. All the equipment is outdated and the trucks are disgusting. The supervisor who's name I will not mention basically gives out the best trucks to whomever he likes. You get to your assigned job site and you setup your closure. The only relaxing part is after the closure is setup you just sit there in your truck and chill out. But keep in mind these trucks are day cab trucks with ZERO room to tilt your seat back. You pretty much sit there until the job is done. Keeping in mind you are the first ones there and the last ones out. Usually you go until about 6am. You head to the yard after that, park your truck and head on home after filling out your log sheets and fuel sheets (roughly around 8am). By the time you reach home its about 8:30am (depending on how far you live and morning traffic). Some people do like to shower before they go to sleep especially when you have been out all night (Let's just say 9am). You have to text the dispatcher in between 10am-12pm saying that you are ready for the next shift. The dispatcher will usually reply around 1pm. WHICH MEANS YOU HAVE TO WAKE UP TO CHECK YOUR PHONE FOR YOUR NEXT START TIME. Then you go back to sleep forever how long you need to before your next shift. YOU HAVE ZERO TIME FOR SOCIAL LIFE. The only benefit they have is that they will get you into the union after 3 months, but what I have heard is that they will get rid of you before that because you are just a number to them. I CANNOT SAY THIS ENOUGH, PLEASE PLEASE BE AWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

I have been in traffic long term and appalled at how this company runs as a business and treats their employees, especially their experienced and valuable people in the field who bail them out of their own mistakes on a daily. 
Management has no fundamental understanding of how things are actually executed on the road nor do they care to know . They have their head so far up their a** concerned about what’s on paper and investing in other companies while their traffic employees sit at home broke because they don’t have enough work for everyone . 
-No seniority 
-No respect 
-Constant lies 
-No appreciation for anyone who goes above and beyond in the field 
-No accountability for their own mistakes, which happen almost every shift 
-No organization 
-night shifts are Expected to basically be on a ‘on-call’ schedule , get a text 3-6 hours prior to your shift beginning but then have to give 2 weeks notice for a single day off . And they will refuse your request if not in that time frame. 
- Equipment is slim or unmaintained and broken. 
- Management prompts you to email them if any issues ,  but operations will never reply or acknowledge. 
There’s so much more especially when it gets to the technicalities of the job but I’ll leave it at that. 
Don’t walk… run away from this company. 

Overall, it's been a positive place to work. The team is friendly, respectful, and easy to get along with. While there can occasionally be disagreements or differences of opinion with management, interactions generally remain professional and respectful. One area that could be improved is communication between management and employees, as there are times when information is not communicated as clearly or consistently as it could be.

Pros:
- Friendly, respectful, and supportive coworkers.
- Many supervisors and managers are approachable and easy to work with.
- The work is generally manageable and not overly physically demanding.
- Positive team environment with good camaraderie.

Cons:
- Scheduling can be unpredictable. Employees often receive their schedule on a day-to-day basis, making it difficult to plan ahead.
- There is no guarantee of work beyond the current day, and long-term assignments can be difficult to secure.
- Employees are generally expected to maintain availability seven days a week.
- Availability is typically expected on at least every other weekend.
- While time-off requests can be submitted, weekend requests are subject to management approval and may be denied based on operational needs.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My experience at Ramudden lacked the stability and professionalism I expected. I was laid off and informed I would not be returning the following season, with limited clarity around the decision.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Work availability and communication were inconsistent, making it difficult to plan or feel secure in the role. Expectations were not always clearly aligned with how situations were handled in practice.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Safety is supposed to be a top priority, but rules aren’t always enforced, which can be frustrating. The workplace has a lot of drama. The overall culture included noticeable turnover and limited emphasis on morale or long-term retention.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Overall, the job itself isn’t hard. The problem is the lack of organization, communication, and consistent scheduling, which makes it a stressful place to work.
In my experience, the company would benefit from stronger leadership at the project manager level, clearer communication, and better accountability.

Not a new employee and not impressed with the company at all.
They over hire and tell everyone it’s full time and lots of overtime but in reality there are months you will get 4 or 5 shifts totally;  lots full weeks go by without one shift .  A few employees get lots of work while others starve, so work is not all fairly shared.  You’re always on standby for nothing and not paid for it.  I totally understand the high turnover I have witnessed.  Like most companies they preach safety and compliance but in the real world they don’t care about safety or employee health at all.  Be prepared to be stuck on shifts, when you finally get one, for up to 15 hours and longer.
No set finish times.  You pay for your own health coverage and you get three whole days of Unpaid sick time for the entire year.  Don’t get sick!
Overall this place is like the vast majority of work places today, not a happy or healthy or productive place for you.  Company just needs bodies for staffing, that’s all.
Most work vehicles  you will use are about a 6 or 7 out of ten but there’s worse out there, sadly.
The only saving grace is that the guys  who you work with are amazing, they always have your back.



This place is horrendous to work at on top of their lack of organization and communication among their poor management team 
There is no fairness or seniority with how the hours are given out, you have to quite literally ask them to schedule you for work not to mention the breaks are minimal if you get any so I’d recommend bringing a drink or something with you since you’ll be holding a sign for hours at a time without much opportunity to move 
Also the first company I worked at that put employee safety last when performing a job it was all about making the client happy in fear of losing the job regardless of if the job seemed unsafe you were looked down on if you couldn’t complete the task after which you’ll more than likely end up sitting at home for a few days this was truly the worst company I’ve ever worked for and I’d rather work nights in any factory or other traffic company than go work for these people again

First of all. Management was the worst ive ever worked for. You work 15hr days everyday. They do not care at all about you. Management actually laughs when a complaint is made. Its sad to see the culture here. Many times i worked and asked for extra help and we were left short staffed. The most two faced management I've ever dealt with. They do not follow their safety health protocols at all. If your actually sick..they don't care. As long as your not coughing around others. I was fired without reason(never been fired in my life)..even though my team leaders and contractors were happy with my work. They dont appreciate your hard work. Youcare just a means of making money off of. All the staff who isnt management,hates the culture here. If you value yourself. You will find somewhere that values you. 

Pros:
Supportive colleagues, opportunities to learn different business systems and processes, and exposure to cross-functional projects. Management was approachable, and there was a collaborative work environment. The role provided valuable experience working with various stakeholders and operational teams.

Cons:
As with many growing organizations, priorities could change quickly, requiring flexibility and adaptability. Some processes were still evolving, which occasionally led to delays or additional follow-up.

Advice to Management:
Continue investing in process standardization and communication across departments to improve efficiency and support future growth.

There are no good things  always non sense after non sense  people do t matter at all   Just how much they can make

Never knowing of your going to be working the next day or not   Nothing is consistent  management always looking for something to complain about or not pick

Absolutely terrible   There is no trust any where and nothing to make you line working there

There is no typical day  you might work 4 hours   6 hours   10 hours     but mostly routine   Boring

The job has it's inherent dangers, that's just the industry. Overall the company does it's best to mitigate these hazards, protecting the workers, clients and the public.

Coming from a health and safety background, I was impressed by the support from management, as well as front line team leaders. Team leaders were very upfront that if you felt that something was unsafe, that a work refusal was acceptable. That being said, I never felt that anything asked of me was unsafe. 

Direct was a great company to work for and wish them all the best.
