Richmond Country Club

Joined there April 2019 in the kitchen, it was a fun hard working environment that offered a lot of variety and challenges, lots of different events and parties to cater for. It was fun getting to know the members and establish connections which made the job more rewarding. The staff tournaments and parties made it feel like we were appreciated.

Fast forward to 2022 post covid the environment at the club was quite toxic i found, bad management from top to bottom, they seemed more focused on getting members in spending money than actually making it an enjoyable experience. They, in very much RCC fashion just got rid of the head chef, no warnings, no real procedure, just got rid of him (as they have done with other managers in the past) only to have another head chef come in and be completely overwhelmed with the amount of work involved, i dont blame them, they came into a new job with no hand over or real direction as to how the club operates and what the members liked which isnt fair, especially for the workers. 

Over time it just went down hill, members became unhappy with the food and direction the head chef wanted to go, they hired multiple untrained, inexperienced staff which put a lot of pressure on the rest of us in the kitchen. There hasnt been any real effort made in terms of staff events or things to make us feel appreciated. It became a hostile and toxic environment to work in. and in RCC fashion I was let go from my full time position due to "hours being cut and a shortage of work" in the peak summer season with no real professional notice or warning.

I really dont want to smear this place through the mud because i genuinely for a time really enjoyed my time and work there, made some great friends met some cool people. The management structure they have is in need of serious change for this club to become anything more than it is right now, there just doesnt seem to be any desire to connect more with the members. The wages were not enough for what was being asked of us in the kitchen and the little to no reward or payoff just killed all enthusiasm for the job.

Would not recommend for servers or chefs, chefs especially beware. 

  

You have to work 25/7/365 any days they need you. 
If you excuse, they will fire you right away. 
last year was good managers and employee. 
this year manager came from global group, the person loved politics, like kingdom in somewhere in the world. 

finally i got heard from someone who work with, the person is problems to people treatment. 

if i know someone trying to go there, i will stop them 1000times before whoever go there.

environment start with politics finish with politics.

The club was an enjoyable place to work.  The staff were energetic and worked hard to keep up the reputation of the club.  It was a great learning experience and left me with a wealth of knowledge.  The hardest part of the job was the billing system.  All the members of the club had their own personal number which we would use at the end of their meal to pay.  Some customers would expect us to know their numbers off by heart and that could be a little challenging.

•	Taught the technical, physical, and mental side of tennis to children and adults of all ages. 
•	Fined-tuned the ability to work, communicate, and understand individuals with different personality and background.
•	Managed and planned schedules of lessons, which had to coordinate with the available times of students, coaches, and tennis, court operating hours.
•	Provided monthly reports to students, which include the review of progress, and goals for the next month.

i learned to manage my time to school and work. My time in the work in the work every on Monday,Wednesday,Friday is 3-8 and saturday and sunday full time.The hardest part of my job is to accept the request of the client to clean thier house but is not allowed in our part of the work. The most enjoyable part of my job is to assist other people to everything.

Long hours, no tips as members pay on their tab, not on your feet as much as a public restaurant, which is a benefit. takes many years to get a pay raise or any sort of advancement- gratutities are given in place of tips based on how much they value you

The job is very concerned with customer service to the members, and while it can be fun to have one-on-one interactions with them, they are very particular about the way they want their experience to run.

Complete lack of care for kid's safety and well-being, manager sides with people who spoil kids and does not maintain any camp organization. Always gets lunches wrong and then blames you for it. Horrible budget for camp, and does not care about camp experience, only money 

Great fun place to work.  Easy going laid back good environment.  Have good benefit package and supply lunch each day.  Fun people and awesome members!

RCC is a great place to work. The people there are friendly and make working there an enjoyable experience. Management is great and they're very understanding and flexible with schedules for students.
