Entered with reservations about joining due to uncertainty in the hiring process and a less-than-desirable salary offer. Despite these concerns, I was motivated by the opportunity to learn new technologies as a backend developer. However, just three weeks into the role, I and nine other software engineers, some with significant experience, were unexpectedly laid off citing budget constraints. It raises the question of whether the company was aware of these budget issues before my brief tenure, and if so, the timing of their decision remains puzzling

I have been working for Rise People for 1 year. Rise values their employees and creates a supportive and collaborative work environment. From the moment I joined the team, I have felt welcomed and appreciated. The management team goes above and beyond to make sure we have the resources we need to do our jobs effectively and efficiently. They have created a culture of continuous learning and development, which has allowed me to grow both professionally and personally.

Rise is a good company to be at if this your first job. The pay is well below normal for BC. Most people stay there 1 or 2 years and once they get experience, they leave. Some managers know what they are doing, but some do not and it shows. They do not practice what they preach.

Team overall lacked team spirit. 
Lack of training.
Team with diverse background.
Provide remote / hybrid positions.
Missed opportunity to improve/advance.
