Great people and the work is solid, & that’s all for the pro’s here. 
The communication at this place is beyond HORRENDOUS. You’ll get maybe a 8-12 hour notice on where you’re going for over a months and that’s all your time to prep to leave. you’ll have no idea on the project length or anything related to the jobs & You’ll be sharing a small hotel room with someone you don’t get to choose & are very uncomfortable hotels. (Very Small beds, no a/c ect..) with low LOA on top of that. 
No one has got any idea about what’s going on, no one communicates and everyone is just waiting around to be told what to do or where the next job is. It’s like pulling teeth trying to find out what a your plan is on a daily basis. 
 
On top of that there is no such thing as a  safety meetings/morning tailgate meetings here, you’ll have the “safety officer” (if you can even call her that) come by and have you sign a safety meeting form saying you were in attendance from that morning, which you or anyone else in the company wasn’t apart of. It’s Extremely sketchy and unprofessional especially for this industry, & I can understand why they have a death in their companies history. 


The entire operation is helicopter controlled by 1 individual who is beyond disorganized! So you’re constantly waiting around for him to tell you what to do next on a daily basis. 
This place needs a serious restructuring. 

If your in a pinch and need work and have absolutely nothing better to do then go for it, but otherwise there are much much better companies to be working for, don’t waste your! 

This company is family ran. The owner has his boots on the ground every single day, all day. The schedule is demanding, the work can be tough, but he doesn't expect anything he wouldn't do himself. 
Great group of people that you form a bond with quickly when working long hours, on the road together for the season.
OT is abundant and it's a great way to build savings. 
Long term employees are here that have been here 15+ years.
Maintenance program and equipment care is beyond standard and exceptionally well done. 
Finished work is well known and respected in the industry. The feeling of pride when driving through a completed work zone can be felt due the exceptional quality.
Lots of learning opportunities, as it is an ever changing work environment. 

Like any seasonal job, the work/life balance can be difficult. You need ambition, goals and a hard work ethic to make it work. Clear and concise communication with management is vital to balancing.

I enjoyed the labour aspect of the job alot, and even living on the road constantly staying in hotels for weeks on end didnt bug me, but i did have a moral conflict with the safety and security of this company and disagreed with the way things were handled.
I learned alot aside from the labour, i am trained for flagging and some equipment opertation.
Working on the crew and being away from home made my coworkers like family, I am still in frequent contact with my former coworkers

I was let go only  3rd day in. I was fired for being a little dizzy ( didn't bring food with me) Every time I felt dizzy I took a brief moment to catch my breath and they thought I was doing nothing. My supervisor, instead of reassigning me to do something else or even no mention of a solution to my problem decided to fire me instead!! They only care about themselves. The beepers they use to communicate to other flaggers took too long to use to even highlight the person you want to reach. When you have an emergency, it'll be faster to yell!!

Work expectations of 7 day work weeks at 12 hours a day, only long weekends off and not aloud to have family at the hotel while living there on the road. If one of their long time employees has any issue with you it doesn't matter how hard you work you till not keep your job with this company. They will talk about you, make stuff up, set you up and make sure you lose your job even if all you do is keep to yourself and work hard. 

Very bad company! Have no organization even for construction, derogatory and bullying bosses, dont give breaks or allow bathroom breaks, can be fired for needing to use the washroom, can be forced to work up to 16 hours a day, work for far more than the allotted 24 days straight, faked safety meetings, and follow no labour standards!! If you want a job with TBL your made to sign away rights and legalities. Will be quitting soon!

Well organized company, high value on safety and delivering great quality roads, company worked great at making sure even if you lived out of town you had a place to stay. Long hours and outdoors but I loved it. The on site manager is phenomenal. And gave me a great opportunity to get paid while working in beautiful areas of the province. Definitely a job to bring water, sunscreen, and a great attitude 

The pay is good but the work conditions are poor. You don't get actual breaks, the place is full of petty drama and the foremen rarely step in to fix any of it. If you don't do everything right on the first try, you get in trouble.

TBL allows you to grow and learn various positions, very little consistency in safety and lack professionalism in relation to employee privacy.Most enjoyable part of the job was being on the road learning new things and building relationships with the crew.

Doesn't follow safety standards. Only get washroom breaks and they are not regular or guaranteed. They don't pay what they say the starting wage is. They are also disorganized and never know what they're doing. Safety meetings didn't happen.
