TJS THE KIDDIES STORE

Upper management was horrible and there was constant fighting between them and the in-store manager. It was never guaranteed that we'd get in products that we ordered and there was never a clear answer of what was actually in the system. We were constantly babied every step of the way, even the tiniest mistake would earn you a half-hour call from the owner where she constantly repeated everything you did wrong.

If the management was a mess then the parking issues were worse. Daily flights with the cheerleaders next door were normal and police had to be called more than once, all over lack of parking. By the time 4:00 rolls around there is almost zero chance you'll have customers come by and you'll most likely be blocked into the store by the cheerleaders.

I would not, under any circumstance, recommend that you work there. It was terrible and I suggest you turn away while you have the chance.

I worked for this company for 6 years. Loved the staff and direct management. The customers were a bit demanding but overall loved my job. The reason I would not recommend it is because upper management meaning the owners and a few others don't care about employees. I never got raises unless I begged, if you had an issue don't even bother bringing it up. If you do well they don't care. They will only focus on what you are doing wrong and breath down your neck on making money but don't work on commission. Too many managers telling you to do ten different things ten different ways. No set rules that they stick too. If you don't care about long term the hours were great and they actually had good benefits.

I was employed here for 3 months, and was laid off after they hired on someone more experienced because I was still learning in comparison. I felt I was barely given time to learn the ropes

I was frequently questioned about why I needed information when I asked for it from a manager, IE prices for a customer. the intent was to make sure I wasn't making mistakes, but this general lack of trust in me left me feeling very resentful and alienated. 

additionally, the management would regularly make very specific demands but would word them unclearly, and then become impatient when asked for clarification.

for all these downsides, the employee treatment was otherwise amazing.

One of the best local companies in BC. They respect their employees, give good benefits to full-time workers, stable hours after probation, significant pay increases every year.  If you work hard they will give you full-time hours if you want. Nice co-workers.

8 hours days
mix of warehouse labour and deliver driver.
assembling furnature in owners home
hardest part is not damaging owners home when carrying furnature into home.
most enjoyable part is seeing the satifaction on costomers faces when job is done.

Working at TJS the Kiddies store was good for the most part te only thing is that sometimes where wasnt a lot of work that could be done for different reasons like not a lot of customers so then the day dragged on but other than that I would say work there.

Manager helped me a lot and friendly. But communication was always an issue within the staffs and I was doing work that I didn’t sign up for: working at completely different department than what I initially applied for.

Limited room for growth. Understaffed very frequently which requires staff from other departments be distracted from their responsibilities. A good place to learn how to provide customer service. Staff and management are understanding.

enjoyed working and learning new things. Sometimes its stressful but once you are used to the work it becomes okay and yeah you get going. Staff is good but try to be more private
