   "oldschool" company that prefers to develop staff and promote from within over outside hires.
   Pay is in line with the market average, but the benefits package and bonus program can't be beat
(Unlimited dental, RRSP matching, scholarships for your kids, prescriptions, glasses, chiro and massage therapy ect.)

   When things are slow, it's a relaxed and easy going environment. You won't get in trouble for slacking off when there's nothing to do as long as you're efficient and motivated when we're busy.

Morning are spent loading/unloading B-trains with commodities(Lumber/Plywood) and finishing goods, afternoons are spent picking order for tomorrow's loads and loading customer flatdecks for pickup orders.

If we're too busy, we prefer to start the day earlier because we don't stay late.

I've worked for a number of companies and I never knew what I was missing until I had the opportunity to join Taiga. Taiga really allows sales reps/branches to run their own businesses with no micro managing, and a ton of freedom as long as you're doing business with integrity, honesty, and earning a profit. I've had the opportunity to go on trips to various manufacturing facilities, team building events, and made some great friends & colleagues. The leadership at Taiga inspires people to grow, offers training and education, promotes from within, has an incredible benefits package (which my pharmacist confirmed last week!). I've been with Taiga for almost 5 years now, and I plan to stay with the company for many many more. 

Taiga is the best employer I've worked for, and look forward to many more years. 

Leadership is always open to new ideas and relays feedback to the appropriate stakeholders. Leaders are coaches, very approachable, and not at all domineering or intimidating. The team is very collaborative and works very well together. 

I'm continuing to see improvements in technology and process. Taiga is really leading the charge in the industry. 

Opportunity for advancement is evident with many senior managers announcing retirement. 

Trade shows are a lot of work but also very enjoyable and a great way to network with customers, vendors, and colleagues. 

Pizza, fish fries, and BBQ fridays are common here in Winnipeg!

I worked in Winnipeg as a Inside Sales Rep for 10 months. Not much communication in learning. I was advised to stop asking too many questions and figure out things on my own. Early May I spoke with management in private about my spouse accepting an out of province career position. My time would come to an end date which was not until the end of October. 2023. 1 week later I was let go with no clear reason. So, I can only assume that being honest and communicate is the reason I was fired. I should have not trusted management. End of the day, they will do what is best for Taiga, not the employee!! 
Extremely disappointed with management and this decision

Busy work day, fun at times but employees are treated differently. More is expected by some while paid less than others who are totally incompetent and unable to accomplish simple things like find the materials to load their trucks,  Sometime requires 3 different people to locate the items to do their loads while newer workers are twice as competent get paid a fraction of this individual earns.  Numerous complaints have been made against him but management has decided to ignore them?  Morale has gone down the tubes here at this branch.

Everyday is a little different with challenges and opportunities to make each day unique

Strange mix of employees. Some very high strung and nearly impossible to work with, others could not be more enjoyable to work with. Branch manager was very unprofessional and made many decisions based on personal reasons to the detriment of customers and employees. 

Terrible place to work. Wages rarely go up even when company is profitable. Company does not promote from within. Training is none existent. Safety only occurs when it doesn’t interfere with profits. VP’s and management think their gods. 

Lots of room for creativity and constructive dialogue.
User feedback is usually anecdotal and frequently indirect.

people. Experienced the wholesale end of the building industry and 
learned how to better focus on meeting the needs of my client base.
