Was part of their real estate division and loved the entrepreneurial culture and spirit of everyone that works there. For how large of a company they are, they do a great job of still operating as a small, family-run business (which they are). I had plenty of interaction with the Hill family and were always treated like a trusted and appreciate member of the team. 

They reward people who are passionate and aren't afraid to go the extra mile, which is pretty standard for a private enterprise. Quite often you are asked to go outside your job description, but if you have the right mindset and view it as an opportunity to grow it is a fantastic place to develop skills, 

Working for The Hill Companies is a challenge like I've never experienced - in a good way. One of the main aspects I look for in a job is the ability to learn many things because I want to become a well-rounded employee, and The Hill Companies has that in spades. I've learned a ton about how to get the most out of your work and try to do the same for the company. It can be stressful with so many things on your plate, but it's rewarding nonetheless. The culture at The Hill Companies stresses the family aspect of the company and they definitely live up to it. I've never had a bad interaction with anyone in The Hill Companies as I'm always left feeling positive. I'm excited to continue working for The Hill Companies and grow my career here - and I hope you will too.

From an accounting perspective there is always work to do but no expectations to work overtime as work life balance is extremely important and encouraged. There are continually new challenges providing numerous opportunities to develop financial skills and they are extremely supportive of individuals pursuing the CPA designation. 
There is a big team focus at Harvard. The separate departments all work together to connect and engage with one another through various activities throughout the year. And you truly feel like the other members of the team have your back and will go out of their way to ensure you succeed. 

They promis the world when they hire you, and lie as they move the goal posts. People in power have little to no experience in the field, and even less understanding of best/safe practices. You're left answering clients angry requests while management or other departments drag their feet on issues and projects. Wages are far below industry standards. On the positive side, non management employees are excellent to work with

I've worked here for just under 5 years. The only reason I am now moving on is a bigger opportunity has come up to advance my career and pay. During the time here, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the south crew. I worked with the Facility Mgmt side for ATCO properties. These guys are amazing and have had such a blast. I highly recommend this company! There's a reason The Hill Company has been in business for 119 years. They treat you like family, and will do whats needed to support their employees. 

I loved my job. My boss was positive, encouraging and supportive. I understood the Company Vision. Most of us were on the same team to achieve impressive milestones together.
My only feedback is regarding the day to day culture. In my experience, the Company would benefit from a more inclusive work environment. 
Overall, Harvard is a good fit for someone who is creative, eager and positive.




Not a BAD company to work for, they will support you and give you everything you need to complete your work. They unfortunately are very new at this whole maintenance side of things, and have no idea what a reasonable workload is. They also never consider travel times. If you work for them; you'd better enjoy travelling, cause your portfolio will include places that are 4+ hours apart from each other. 
Careful of the Tenants, as they can have you laid off without any warning.

Job started great but within a short period of time had a lot of work load piled on me and the chain of command had been giving a completely manipulated version of my daily work schedule to the company managers. Also being a merit based company made it easy for someone to talk negative things about others and have an entire management team turn against you for very wrong reasons and false accusations.

Broken promises when hired about their rolls and responsibilities.

 Company and managers are too busy to help train and provide directions with  staff and as a result staff feels lost in their job rolls.

 The staff don't embrace and welcome new people that are hired and don't include them in conversations or lunches.  Newbies have to be the ones to try and fit into the click groups.

Company that cares about their employees, not clock watchers, overtime is not expected and if it occurs you may take off days in lieu.  The work load is very high however but it is understood and accepted by management.
