Trans-Continental Textile Recycling Ltd.

Trans Continental Textile Recycling Ltd. is by far the worst workplace I’ve ever experienced. Employees constantly operate under extreme pressure in a chaotic environment, with the constant threat of being fired hanging over them. Management, including supervisors and even the manager, shows no concern for employee complaints or requests for help. The owner makes firing decisions arbitrarily, often selecting someone and terminating them within seconds, creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty.

The workplace itself is disorganized and messy, making accidents and injuries highly likely. Safety is clearly not a priority. Staff are expected to manage heavy workloads with insufficient resources, such as a lack of proper boxes, while being pressured to empty slides quickly. There is no structure, no support, and no recognition of effort. The result is constant stress, anxiety, and unfair treatment. For anyone considering employment here, it is a toxic environment that should be avoided entirely.

The work day revolved around a bell. I'd arrive at the factory between 6:30 to 7am. The work bell would ring and we'd all head out to do stretches 3 days a week and the other 3 day to our slide and start work immediately and make sure its fast regardless if your tired and standing on your feet constantly pulling amd sorting clothes and most of the time in very limited space sorting the goods into most of the time trashed falling apart boxes, a majority of them tied together with fabric. 

You're expected to submit 6 towering boxes of used clothes a day. After 8hrs, most days skipping my breaks and lunch to not be fired, I was only able to submit 3 to 4 boxes of approved goods and most of the time the checker would throw the clothes out to the bins. Meanwhile the boss or supervisor would scold us for tossing the tossed by the checker clothes. 

I was able to take days off for appointments and was paid for medical leave which was good.

I started part-time when I was in last year of my University degree program. When I started I didn't have a lot of relevant experience, so I was introduced to a lot of new things. I was able to use a lot of concepts I used at work  for my school projects and case studies. I think working here has really helped me strengthen my multitasking abilities, communication, team work, problem solving skills. 

The owners are very involved in day to day operations. They are approachable. Opinions and ideas for improvement are encouraged. 

Working here I was introduced to many challenging situations but it is fulfilling as you are working for an organisation that is environment conscious, supports local community programs. You gain valuable on the job training that prepares you for managerial positions or if you want to start your own business.

Workload was horrible on feet for 8 hours a day, my co workers were rude and not welcoming. All management contradicted themselves while instructing me what to do and training was not good or clear at all. I experienced a lot of pressure and was actually begged not to quit while also being told almost everything i did was wrong because all management and coworkers would say different things. I had to hold back tears multiple times at this job and became severely depressed. Effort was never appreciated and would be on my feet all day for at least 7 hours a day. Constantly rushed to the point its not possible to do what they ask. Do not work here.

I liked this job and was let go out of nowhere with no feedback whatsoever (granted it was within probation period after 6 weeks). The person training me left the country, and 4 days later I was fired. Management wasn't clear with me about my goals and how to achieve them, so to this day I am not sure where I went wrong. I tried to get answers after the fact, I sent an e-mail and was completely ignored. I was training the person who would replace me without even knowing I'd be gone. Very high turnover rate in this place, most people I talked to had been working there for less than 3 months. I would say communication is poor in this place, so either you get it or you are discarded. Very disappointing.

Very high turnover here.  Received improper training and let go. Asked questions to learn how to do my job I was asked to do, none were answered. You are expected to just know the job on the first day without proper training to do so. I sincerely regret accepting an employment offer here.  Was hired, had no proper training and was placed on a sorting line. Worked 6 hours and let go.  Environment is not a very friendly environment and just revolves around a buzzer going off for breaks. There is no job security here and I was told it's a constant revolving door of new hires. 

The first day is getting thrown to the wolves. If you don't catch on by days end. Will be threatened to lose your job. Management plays favorites. It's fast paced. The management also fired people for no reason. Expected to sort like an 8 legged Octopus. Hardest part is trying to sort as fast as you can while keeping an eye out for the best clothing. If miss a piece management gets very angry. Please really think long and hard why you want to work for such  a stressful company. 

Waste of time here....they fire you in a day or two if you don't work well that too without proper training or anything.
Worst management, groupism is there, they do not trust you and wants you to work like robots. 
No proper breaks.

Shaby work place..
Employees are not treated with equality.

Undue pressure of sorting boxes and submit at least 8-10 boxes everyday.

Every trainer has different opinions about the fabric.
What is right or wrong... nobody knows.


 They just need money nothing else.

Overload of work, they will expect you to take on a workload worth multiple people. You’ll be doing task A and mid way someone will ask you to do another task, then so on another task without having a chance to complete the original task assigned to you beforehand. Absolutely not worth your time, you’ll be let go for the pettiest reasons. You won’t “fit” in. Horrible goal setting that only matches the bad management.

It is one of the the worst companies to ever work at, poor management, no system. They fire anyone without any cause just because the owners don’t like them. No work ethics. They don’t know what they want from an employee, no set job duties. If I could rate them negative I would. Save your self do not apply here or work here. Mismanaged and pathetic work culture. Never worked with such awful people who don’t even know what they want.
