UCMAS

There are instances throughout my recent history in which I display the skills necessary to succeed in this position. The most recent example of my organization and interpersonal skills was displayed when I was working at UCMAS as a teaching assistant. I was asked to take over a class because the teacher of the class was ill. This forced me to keep my priorities and tasks organized because if I did not, this would result in an inability to teach children effectively. I stayed organized by constantly checking up on the children to see if they needed assistance and also by staying alert. My interpersonal skills were on display after class when I had to meet with each of the parents to give them feedback on the progress of their children. This required me to carefully convey the performance of each child while not being too harsh on any individual child. I appreciate the helpful and kind gesture I obtained from my co-workers throughout the years of working at UCMAS.

A typical day at work is 3pm to 8pm.
I have learned to meet challenges in daily level, handle dynamic environment with different needs and manage to focus on the agenda planned and complete the task of teaching.
Owned by an experienced teacher, who helps and makes it a learning place assigning managerial tasks along with teaching.
Hardest part of the job is to handle kids and keep them interested in learning using different techniques.
Enjoyable part of the job is the content of teaching and seeing your students perform well in assessments and exams.

Honestly the leadership here did not care about the kids or your opinion on what was best for them. The kids were not allowed to go to the bathroom even, multiple students almost peed themselves. The communication was terrible because they needed to approve your curriculum and would not respond till maybe an hour before a lesson. Also they only gave me one hour a week. 

A typical day at work would be me walking around helping the students how to do the math and marking the homework that was assigned for the previous class. I learned how to be patient towards kids and I learned to communicate to people I don't know with respect and with a positive attitude.

The UCMAS program is based on the ancient, simple but powerful Abacus tool that provides countable beads for children to visualize numbers. Children learn to manipulate those beads to perform arithmetic calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Sometimes a struggle to get kids to sit still through 2 hours of math, but rewarding to watch them learn and make progress.

Good place to learn how to prepare and follow a lesson plan, and also how to adapt when complications to those plans arise.

UCMAS is the great way of learning your mathematical addition, subtraction, multiplication and division which can help me and i got to teach students with grade 4 to 12 with their math problems.

Their training is quite extensive (and unpaid) and if you're not a kids person to begin with, this will be a tough job. But the boss is nice, and the kids aren't all that bad, and the general work environment is okay.

A small institute with minimum workforce. A good place to work for a part time career, teaching kids and standing up as role models to the students. 
Can be improved with a better management and operations with more workforce.

Great working environment, time flies by and it is exciting to come back every week to teach the students something new. Very gratifying to see their progression.
