The uniform they provide is the cheapest quality I have ever seen. They give you summer gloves to work outside in -15. Supervisors and duty managers are the laziest workers that just sit around in heated trucks while we freeze outside with NO breaks. Us ramp agents have more experience than the managers however they still want to tell us how to do our job that we have been doing for years. The pay is terrible for the amount of work we do. Lifting bags in freezing weather for $17. The union is useless as our wages have not went up and ramp agents are still complaining  however  they still continue to charge us for the union every month. We need better pay along with night-shift premium and winter premium. We don’t even have a proper break room with enough lockers, tables , chairs for all employees. We don’t even have a water fountain in the break room we are expected to go to fountains inside the terminal.

It’s honestly frustrating when a company that could be so much better is run in such a toxic way. In my experience at Unifi Aviation, it felt like upper management was more focused on asserting power than fostering a supportive or respectful work environment. They treat employees like numbers, not people, and there’s little regard for basic respect or fairness. The whole atmosphere was like a dictatorship—micromanaging at every step and creating unnecessary stress and fear. It’s exhausting working in an environment where you feel like you’re just a cog in a machine, constantly on edge about being reprimanded for things that are out of your control. They definitely don’t prioritize the well-being of their employees, and it really shows in how they run things.

As a ramp agent, you'll find yourself on the tarmac at the airport. You'll be offloading planes, loading them, driving equipment. It's quite simple, just know that this job is underpaid, underappreciated and there is a high chance of personal injury. 

Many people have died working for Unifi due to safety regulations not being followed or properly conveyed. People have been ingested by aircraft engines. Injuries are common due to the nature of the job, especially in your knees, shoulders, elbows and ankles. 

If you really, really need a job. This pays above minimum wage. Otherwise, keep looking. 

Oh, good luck advancing. If you aren't a friend of management, they'll push you aside. 



You work in a team environment, each day you're given a group to work with sometimes you may have 4 group members however we usually get 3 and Unifi ensured us that all flights will have 5 crew members, guess some things never change eh.

The hardest part of the job is you're given flights back to back. Ramp agents to EVERYTHING and get paid $17. This job should be $19 minimum for Ramp. Lead get paid extra to do nothing and managers and supervisors are useless.


We receive no westjet flight benefits, what a joke! We work at the main hub and no FLIGHT BENEFITS? they give us vouchers and call them buddy passes.

Supervisors & Trainers themselves aren't even qualified to do their job since they aren't trained to do the JOB.

The Union is absolutely a waste of money each month we pay $80 a paycheque for what? For them to do absolutely nothing for us. 

There's no snow premium for ramp agents who work OUTSIDE ALL DAY since they don't give you BREAKS.

Do you want a break? Take a DELAY. Ramp should get paid $19 starting not $17. This is a physical demanding job.



Unload and load planes, put bags in carts for bag room,  management sucks, no appreciation, overworked and underpaid. Supervisors are biased, some employees don’t even know what there doing after working for a long time, training was rushed and they just throw you on the ramp and expect you to know everything after a 1 week rushed training in class. You hurt your back knees, wrist and more. Lots of people quit because they hate the way they are treated and not appreciated.

This job will be what you make of it. It can be educational and fun or a frustrating mess. Go in thinking teamwork. Do your job as you are trained and no short cuts. Don't get involved in drama.

Job is fine and easy, but If wanna move up or get a raise? You either need to be friends with someone on management or you gotta suck up to them. I've seen it multiple times within the 4 months they've started here on Calgary. They never recognize the avhievements of your work but will definitely recognize your mistakes like it's the end of the world. 

- Ramp agents don't get paid enough for this job, don't work here if you want to 
protect your back. 

I don't enjoy this job, it's just so I can nearly pay bills, the scheduling is terrible you can't enjoy life. 

Company provides cheap steal toes, cheap everything.. 

My honest opinion, work for an AIRLINE.
