What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working at UVL was leaving and being free of the toxic leadership. It became clear that the "Higher Standard of Care" rhetoric was a façade, and despite dedication, hard work, and contributions, people get cast aside for no valid reason. The leadership was weak, hypocritical, and insecure, with a CEO who was two-faced and Directors who lacked professionalism and authority. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part of working at that company was dealing with directors who were shockingly unqualified and out of touch with the very basics of their roles. They lacked understanding of the projects, the work, the requirements, and the complexities involved. Despite extensive efforts, I was met with blatant disrespect and condescension. Being told by a director that "I didn't know what I was doing," despite clearly outperforming expectations, was not only demoralizing but also emblematic of the incompetence and arrogance that plagued the leadership. It’s baffling how individuals in such positions could be so dismissive of expertise while clearly lacking it themselves.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Any deviation from the rigid cultural norms dictated by the CEO resulted in immediate dismissal, regardless of the employee's performance or contributions. In my case, the issue was trivial—something completely unrelated to my day-to-day work. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at the company was an exercise in frustration and futility. It revolved around deciphering the backward, incoherent, and often contradictory requests from the directors, who were consistently clueless about the work being done or the project requirements. There was constant backtracking, endless explanations of the most basic concepts, and an overwhelming sense that leadership had no grasp of what was being presented or needed. Valuable time and energy were wasted just trying to educate those in positions of authority—people who should have already understood the fundamentals of their roles.

I was only here for a temp position, but during this time I felt very welcome by most. Training wasn't their strong suit which was unfortunate because I felt I could have performed my job a lot better. The bosses were very understanding and easy to talk to if any issues that came up and were willing to help (and they did). A typical day at work would vary. I could go from not even being able to leave my desk because there was too much work to do to being bored out of my mind and looking for work to do. Overall, good people to work with/for.

Working in the international department is probably the best department to work in. Too sad is full of women who don’t want you to do better & learn more even if you need to learn so you can do your job. There’s no work life balance & they don’t care about retaining good employees 

To much favortisim dispatch will either make you or break you  used to be ok some dispatchers will help you and others will screw you don’t bother it’s to  hard on the body

Working for United Van Lines is a very enjoyable experience. With every job comes a fun time. You get to meet new people, hear their stories and just have a little adventure. I'd say that's the best part about working for them.

This is a very physical job. Moving furniture and housewares that owners prefer not to move themselves. However, it gets you in great shape and you get paid well, also. +$20/hr as a furniture mover, if you negotiate your salary...

I'm able to expand on my knowledge of Canada geography. As working in a transportation industry you are able to see the wide scope of the moving industry.

Enjoys physical work in loading/unloading household furniture. Very responsible, friendly and courteous as well as having respect and concern for customer's property and well being. 

The staff are easy-going and hard-working. Excellent work environment. Everyone has a strong work ethic and the company respects staff and provides a welcoming, pleasant and flexible environment.

I already worked there as a broker and also doing packaging with several crews under my own contract busines with United also work at the branch in ottawa start the uvl container branch in the 70,s
