UCN staff in The Pas and students were great to work with.  Prepare for the unexpected when working or living in a Remote northern Manitoba community.

There were 13 improvement orders that the safety office was required to work to be compliant with workplace safety Manitoba. Required to attend safety courses offered through safety Manitoba. Coordinate safety meetings with other departments. Complete safety audits in departments. Attend meetings and assist in coordination of special events and ensure safety requirements are met.

I taught Heavy Equipment course to first year students. We had a new building to work in so we had to do a lot of prep work to get the building up and running. First month we were not in building but where we were helped us out a lot providing us with space to teach theory for the beginning of the course. Overall great experience and would recommend anyone to work for this university. Great staff.

I have only been working here for about a year it's a great place, the management keeps a sense of a family while keeping a professional workplace. The best thing about working UCN there is always room for improvement and things you can learn. The UCN has so many resources available for staff to improve in many aspects of your career.

The job is great! Daily job demands are well balanced for work and life.
Processes are clear.  Enjoyable environment. Beautiful location.  Students are wonderful.

I loved my job at the library. I contributed with graphic design but the best part was teaching the students how to write better academic papers. I am studying education and had the opportunity to teach a body of students simply how to get better grades.

Truly one of the best most fulfilling jobs I had, would have stayed here for every had the weather been more conducive to settling down in Thompson MB. Pretty much only moved because of the climate and remoteness of the town it is located in.

I like working at UCN in Thompson. There are many opportunities to learn and gain new work experience while being diverse and inclusive of all peoples

Was not fairly paid for Education and work experience. Old building was not safe to work in. Nice Manager. Lots of Staff turn over. Small minded support staff not open to diversity.
