Working at Uptown Eye Specialist Clinic was a highly challenging experience. The environment is marked by significant issues in management and communication, with little to no opportunity for career advancement despite initial assurances.

Lack of Consistency and Transparency: The roles assigned often do not match the positions applied for. Team assignments can change unexpectedly, and communication about these changes is minimal. This results in frustration and uncertainty about one’s actual responsibilities.

Inadequate Training and Support: Training is disorganized and prolonged, as team leads are often unavailable to address questions. Even after completing the extended training period, many crucial aspects remain unclear, with few experienced staff members able to offer helpful guidance.

Hostile Work Environment: There is a noticeable lack of camaraderie among staff members, particularly from more established employees. Support and cooperation are minimal, creating a culture where new employees often feel isolated and unsupported.

Poor Management and HR Practices: Management often seems to engage in “political games” that affect the team's morale and performance. HR prioritizes management's needs over employee well-being and advancement, with promises of growth and development that are rarely fulfilled. Feedback and reports of workplace issues are often overlooked or dismissed.

Lack of Recognition and Heavy Workload: Hard work and long hours receive little to no acknowledgment, which impacts morale. The emphasis is on productivity without any effort to recognize or support employee satisfaction, creating a stressful and unrewarding environment.

Unstable Job Security: Employees can be dismissed without clear reasons or an opportunity to improve. This lack of transparency around job security adds to the overall uncertainty and stress of working here.

Misaligned Vision and Practices: While the clinic presents a professional image externally, the internal work culture does not align with these values. Basic operational needs are often unmet due to a lack of proper training and organization, impacting both patient care and employee morale.

In summary, Uptown Eye Specialist Clinic appears promising from the outside but lacks the supportive environment and structured management needed for professional growth and well-being. This role may suit someone seeking short-term employment, but it is unlikely to meet the expectations of those looking for a stable and fulfilling career path.

I initially started here during a transition in their HR. I've seen 2 HR managers leave the company. During my short tenure here I met some amazing colleagues they will support you and try to make the best the time you are they great. Unfortunatly, during my first month here no real training was giving for my job, maybe because they had no real job description for the new role. None of the job description in my work concract coincided with the tasks i was asked to perform. Additionally, you will be overworked here by manament in an extreamly fast paced envirment, you will be forced to not take your lunch due to the workload or work overtime(banked as vacation not paid overtime). You will be receiving emails at all hours i.e during the weekend or at 3 am by your colleague/supervisor (you wont be forced to respon). 

You are micro managed to no end, with unrealistic expectations for productivity. The work environment is fast paced and can end up being extreemly stressful. Asking for help will often land you with a lecture on how you should already know this, or be able to handle the work load assigned to you. People are quick to toss others 'under the bus' to avoid criticism and learning to solve their problems. Management is toxic and does not value you or what you bring to the company, they see you as replaceable. Alot of Employee turnover.

The team lead us untrustworthy and creates a toxic work environment for all employees. Complete lack of respect. HR he's beyond disrespectful and gets nothing done. The work load is extremely alot, your expected to do multiple tasks for others while still trying to get your own work done. Training is horrible cause the team lead doesn't know much. You get messages after hours about work constantly. Some of the doctors have zero respect for staff due to their job title.

Always understaffed there.  Management is horrible with people having days off when we need them.  Too many doctors to work for and never enough people.  Most of the time the doctors don't know whats going on.  The pay you get does not amount to the workload there.  You're constantly being put into different positions without any knowledge of it, then get yelled at by the doctors for not knowing what you are doing.  Very unprofessional.  WORST PLACE TO WORK FOR.  The only good thing is the staff is really amazing but everything else is horrible.

 Managers are approachable and friendly  , my co workers and team are good  and willing to support , good team spirit  .. Management give chance to  new landed immigrants to be part of the organization. 

Fast paced, very unfriendly colleagues. The HR was ready to terminate  your employment without due training. The working culture reminds me of animals in the jungle where the new employees are the weaker ones and the older ones the strongest. They use the familiarity the have with management to frustrate the new employees.

I honestly enjoyed my work there, don't get me wrong. But they broke the promise that they gave me, and that really broke my heart. Their management is just so messed up that the clients are always unsatisfied at the end, no matter how amazing the doctors were. They really did not appreciate my work there, except for the actual owner of the optical shop, that I was assigned to work to.

Nothing more than a toxic and stressful place to work.no one takes responsibility and is always looking for someone else to blame. No work complaints get dealt with by management and staff are ignored or dismissed when issues arise. Management does not care for the employees because we are replaceable as we were told.

Toxic work environment with no opportunity for growth. Internal strife between employees and Management tends to take sides with employees who have been there for longer time.
