-Most challenging part of the job is addressing social issues, ensuring tenant satisfaction when responding to maintenance issues.
- Most enjoyable part of any job is end of day :) clocking out and maintaining work like balance. However, I would say monthly meetings are great as I get to connect with colleagues, discuss issues and exchanges ideas/ solutions while enjoying refreshments.

Victoria Park had the same Executive Director for 25 years.  It had a family atmosphere and he always had his door open to listen to tenants and employees.  When he retired, the friendliness and openness was lost.  Say anything to criticize management, God help you, even when it was true and justified  A specific manager has disposed of many people, some of them were stellar, devoted employees.  I know of one life that was almost destroyed.  As for the employees, they were mostly very decent to work with, save and a except just a few.  You have to work hard here and the pay was fair.  Upper management really do well, some make obscene salaries given that this is a non profit organization. Resident Managers salaries were too low, in my opinion.

The hardest part of this job is trying to tell the property manager that taking away kids activities in a family oriented survey sucks because I know other surveys that Victoria Park runs allows these activities, example having a basketball net. I grew up living in a Victoria Park survey there was not a say that I was not outside playing basketball, street hockey, tossing the football or even playing soccer. 
I was always taught to pick my battles when it came to dealing with tenants and certain issues and dealing with this has been the hardest because I used to do it has a kid. My property manager does not get that concept. 

Loved my job , my property manager was great to work with for the first 2yrs and then became a nightmare.  The apartment building that I worked at was an independent living seniors building ,so became friends and got to help them do things that they couldn't do for themselves.  My job duties were to clean and sanitized all area of the building mop floors, clean windows shampoo carpets, strip floors, set up for private functions the property owner put in for the tenants.

Good benefits and competitive salary.  Opportunities for training and promotion.

Working with the public and high customer service standards.

Casual , friendly and professional. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typical is very busy.  Emergency can happen anytime so you need to be flexible  and responsive

VPCH offers an excellent work environment with ample opportunities for gaining experience, learning, and advancing the staff's career. At Victoria Park Community Homes, the management values the staff, their contributions, and their commitment. VPCH maintain a positive and professional work environment, where every team member feels valued and a part of the VPCH family.

Not a good place to work. Constantly defending yourself to Victoria Park because of tenants that sit at home all day and do nothing but try to come up with garbage to complain about. Most tenants are never happy even when they get their units for dirt cheap. They want new everything. No back up from higher up positions. Superintendents are looked down on and treated like dirt. 
Stay away from here unless you want to work 24/7 and listen to ungrateful people complain all day about nothing.

I have seen many changes throughout my time with VPCH and bottom line is, if you do your job you won’t have any issues. All the new changes that have been implemented will help VPCH expand their portfolio. 

Working at Vic Park has helped me to succeed in multiple aspects for my life due to the build in flexibility of my time and work location as well as a company culture. I can stress how much this company is trying to do for he affordability crisis and how much we should be pushing for non-profit providers in Southern Ontario. 

Excellent place to work. Co-workers are supportive and help you learn your position, as well as giving insight on the organization as a whole. Can be fast paced at times, but overall good balance. Satisfaction in knowing you are making a difference for an important cause.
