I started working at VOXDATA in October 2024 and transitioned to working from home later that November. Before the transition, we were trained in-office and instructed to use a system with preset codes (Break, Lunch, Coaching, etc.) to indicate our availability. Notably, there was no specific code for washroom breaks.

I have a diagnosed medical condition—ulcerative colitis—which requires me to take unscheduled bathroom breaks. I communicated this early on and provided medical documentation multiple times, as requested by my supervisor. Despite following instructions to use "Break" for washroom time (as I was told not to code these in chat), I was later reprimanded for doing so.

Though I tried to handle this respectfully and in good faith—offering explanations, supplying doctor’s notes, and proposing solutions—the responses became increasingly hostile. I received Slack messages implying my pay would be docked, and a formal letter demanding acknowledgment of policy enforcement regarding breaks. When I attempted to resolve the issue and advocate for fair treatment under medical accommodation guidelines, my messages were ignored or met with dismissive responses (like emojis).

From December 2024 onward, the tone of my interactions with management shifted. Coaching became inconsistent, and I was reprimanded for practices previously approved or even taught in training materials. Despite consistently meeting or nearly meeting performance targets (green in sales, slightly under in saves), I was placed on a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) in February 2025. Communication breakdowns continued, including temporary loss of access to internal tools like Slack.

Ultimately, I felt unsupported in managing a legitimate medical issue and was discouraged by the lack of empathy, clarity, and consistent communication from management.

Long hour shifts every week, they keep you one day on the weekends also, they just switch as they wish and if you don't show up you get fired if you don't have a valid excuse like breaking your leg. Work is alright, you get to play music on Pandora whilst waiting to make another outbound call, you make about 200 outbound calls per day. I was in the SiriusXM campaign, you're not forced to make a sale in the first one or two weeks, but if you don't they just kick you out if you don't the salesman skills because sometimes it's just luck. Honestly, the workplace vibe was pretty neat, I met a couple friends, manager is super nice but of course his patience has a limit.

I don't even know where to begin. This place is absolutely horrendous. It should be reported to Normes du Travail. 

The two "higher ups' did absolutely nothing when an assault took place. It says in their contract that such things will not be tolerated, and yet they did not fire the parties involved. I was in complete shock. They make false promises to employees and flat out lies. 

The building on Mcgill College Ave. is NEVER cleaned. Not once. Their excuse (once again, those two "higher ups") was that the cleaning people do not have a key...lol. What a joke. The carpet is covered in filth. The desks are dirty as heck. The lunch room is just as gross. Never cleaned. There is no coffee machine. All there is is a broken water machine that leaks all over the floor. The bottle of dishwashing soap has been empty for months. 

Do not apply to this dirty, untrushtworty  place. They only reason why I'm giving it 1 star is because there is no option for zero stars.

Its a very relaxed place to work, but the breaks are too short it’s like you have to run to get anything done, and they’ll « coach » you about how you can’t abuse the breaks when you’re late 5-10 mins extra. management are super passive agressive as well, they don’t really care for agents as they can replace them easily… But team and people are super nice and you can get along with them easily. Pay is low, comparing to other calling centres… They say that english only speaking call centres is the reason of the cheap pay, but check out IKEA, they’re paid super well even when there are only « english speaking » jobs…

Throughout the year the workplace lost it's way... Advancement used to mean something, your status in company has an impact in their success. Now the tittle attached to your name is meaningless and devoid of any importance: you are just another gear in the machine. We no longer focus on the work environment quality, but rather the quantity of employee we could possibly stuff in the call center... 

Overall there is a lack of team spirit, workplace culture absent and redundancy .

However, upside of all this is the co-workers are all sociable and customer are most of the time really nice to talk to. Flexible shift, meaning you trade your hours with someone else.

My typical day at Voxdata revolved around answering approximately 50 telephone calls from the clients of RBC Royal Bank- routing calls to proper personnel, answering general quires, activating RBC credit and debit cards and advising clients on the purchase of and enrollment into insurance programs offered through RBC. 
Since RBC expected us to promote a very high quality of customer service, it was a great experience to learn and apply the same. Also, the role strengthened my telephone conversation skills which later became useful when I had to conduct phone interviews at Experis.  

Great company culture, I truly enjoyed working there. People were very nice and helping. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of flexibility for one's schedule. It didn't matter what you wrote on the schedule part of the application, and what times you'd be available, they'd give you a shift that you couldn't argue against. Unless you had hard evidence that you strictly couldn't work that time they'd consider changing it for you, and that'd still take two weeks to finalize. 
Otherwise, kind management, no harsh supervisors nor judgmental environment, I found the seating comfortable and people very engaging. 

Worst company known to man, they promise bonuses so you take a low pay but they make it impossible to reach bonuses. Shameful management. they have no purpose or respect for human beings. The turnover is high. They don’t communicate with the agents and make it seem like everything is your fault. In my less than a year time there 25 people have quit. That says a lot. They have a manager for the managers that doesn’t know how the place runs. Needs new management. You make more at McDonald’s then here and yet you do so much more work here: they refuse to increase your pay and when you voice complaints they gaslight you. You will go insane working here.

Meeting coworkers that are genuinely kind, amazing people.

You’re under constant threat of being fired. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It can be supportive or toxic depending on who you have to deal with. Some people work there try to lift people up while others try to put down. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Exhausting, frustrating, sad, unhappy.

All the negative reviews on this place are accurate. Employees are overlooked and management will laugh at your expense. Not to mention everything is done in secrecy. No accountability or transparency. So much expectations from the job for you to “put on your best customer service voice and work” but they make bonuses so hard to get. It’s sad, good hard working people are exploited. And no one cares enough to actually help resolve issues, to them employees are easily replaceable. Lots of manipulation and gaslighting. Not worth the 5 mental breakdowns a day.
