WONDERLAND

Working at Wonderland as an Entertainment Usher allowed me to develop customer service skills and communicate well with others. It helped me to be self-managed and work well independently as well as with a team. Entertainment Ushers are required to monitor the crowd at events and shows taking place in Wonderland which can get stressful sometimes because we deal with all kinds of people and try to keep all the guests coming to wonderland happy. Entertainment Ushers at Wonderland are trained to follow the four cornerstones; courtesy, cleanliness, safety and service all bound together by integrity. The hardest part of the job was working in extreme heat and standing for long periods of time. However, it is fun overall because it is a widely recognized theme park and there are always tons of fun and enjoyable events taking place.

The management team do not communicate with one another. When it comes to get new equipment that you could buy at the dollar store it takes forever. It seems sometimes that magement just carees about labour hours and revenue. the line staff feel this. When being a supervisor at a food location its more like you are the manageer of the location, you are responsible  for labour budgets, revenue budgets, waste management, scheduling of employees,  modivation, ect. The  pay is extremely low and there are no benifits and hardly any modivational tactics for supervisors last year .the start a supervisor of the month but stopped at the moth of June... And this year the same two people that got supervisor of the month last year are still on the same board....It seems sometimes that managment just need bodies to be in a location. The fellow co-workers make it fun.

A typical day at work would start off with me putting on a costume after signing in after I have done that I would go meet with my supervisor with the rest of my group, then I would spend 7-8 hours interacting with the guest along with my co-workers after having brake and work I would return my costume and sign out the would go home for the day.  The managers are really helpful and would be there if needed. This job embraces everyone regardless of culture and does not discriminate against anyone no matter what. The hardest part of the job is the distance it is from my house. What I enjoyed the most is interacting with all the guest that comes through.

Working at wonderland started out fun mostly with learning new job responsibilities. The culture is great while bonding with coworkers is the main positive about working here. Overall the management is subpar with people constantly quitting and new team leads taking over that can have less experience and knowledge about a ride than the crew members. Many people working here don't try to become a team lead since the pay raise is negligible with the responsibilities greatly increased. Overall a good part-time job but don't expect any significant job promotions.

I enjoyed working because the people in the community were very positive people and easy to get along with. Management was difficult to deal with and times but very helpful. I learned how to get along with people better I learned how to deal with mad guests. My coworkers made me want to improve my skills, they were very supportive and good people to talk to. The hardest part of the job was standing for 8 plus hours a day. The best part was talking to guests and Coworkers. A typical day at work would be dealing with people that were disrespectful but mostly respectful.

it is an experience . As a ride operator and attendant a typical day at work, you get to know your schedule for the day, test ride to ensure the machines are in good conditions to ensure safety. its a team work kind of job and my team were great, they made work easy and fun to come to. The management created fun experiences . Some supervisors did not care for employee concerns and safety. I learned the value of an excellent team.

I would spend 20 minutes getting into a costume with mask and face pant then get sent to a maze and start to do my job. What i learned was more ways to deal with others and to keep pushing my working habits to improve it. I had a good relationship with my management and co-workers, i had no problems dealing with them. The hardest part was taking of the mask and pant in the end of the day. I enjoyed the whole experience of working at this job the workers will help each other to make the job easier.

I learned valuable skills such as quickly integrating into a group environment and tips and tricks on how to always present a positive demeanor such as how to isolate the work environment and personal issues so negative effects from one don't influence the other. The coworkers were very friendly and energetic and even on the hottest days work was enjoyable.

Wonderland has a fantastic working environment, the friends you make are definitely the best part of working there.

You really learn how to deal with people, as well as following strict safety precautions.

Hardest part of the job is definitely enduring the weather, as you'll be outdoors during your shifts, and it was often blazing hot in the summer.
