As much as I loved my co-workers,unfortunately the managers and everyone else above managers had TERRIBLE communication skills. Biggest regret of 2020 is wasting my time with them. They have no loyalty towards their employees and they will treat your horribly unless you work 24/7. 

Work would get very stressful and my managers nagging and not helping resulted in days where I was crying in my desk and no one even noticing that I was. I got diagnosed with Anxiety ( something I developed while working here) and thats when I decided to leave. they are not worth it, don't fall into their " Friendly work environment, small firm with a big firm feel". Because they will give you 3 different files to do with the same deadline, offer no help whatsoever and will not be so friendly if you ask a question. 

Their work place also lacks diversity which you can tell by the entitlement that the partners and some of the seniors feel and by the lack of representation and by how you WILL be treated differently if you do not look like them. 

My partner never said Hi to me, and when she did it was to tell me to grab her something from downstairs lol.

 I have no clue how they made it this far. Wish I could get my year back.

Career development seems to be at the forefront of the firm's culture. They are very focused on nurturing talent and treat everyone like they're going to be the next Partner at the firm. In addition, things like yoga classes, fitness classes and ping pong all available on-site make Welch a dream job. 

The management team at Welch is extremely approachable and comprised of individuals who truly care about their employees. I'm not just another number at the firm, almost everyone of the 170+ staff at the office knows me by name.

I really liked doing my co-op here because it is in my field. A typical day would be filing, doing tax returns, shredding, bookkeeping, etc. I learned a lot there including all of the above and the computer programs used. I did not get to chat much with management but I personally like them as a person. The workplace culture is good because everyone is really nice and helpful, even though they are busy. The hardest part of the job was to do tax returns because every client's file is different and I don't know everything. The most enjoyable part of the job was to enter sales and expenses on Quickbooks.

As an intern without pay, a typical day for me was as follows:
- enter data into the system
- compare HR entries to ensure they were correct
- scan documentation and classify accordingly
- respond to emails and telephone calls of staff members
- ensure that student intern documentation was sent to the government in time for processing
- worked directly with the HR Manager, who guided me on policies and procedures of HR

Learn a lot and experience a variety of jobs within the accounting field.
Very sterile work environment, not a fun workplace.
Fast paced environment.
Can be difficult to know who you are working for as many partners and managers directing you with different expectations.

Being able to experience different industries while learning new skills and being about to explore independence.  Great experiences working on different files from many different industries.

Unfortunately the office had little passion and little cheer. My experience was that of a mentee, but I received almost no mentorship, I did receive quite an inordinate workload, and there was little communication between partners on what was going on.

A typical day at work would be photocopying forms, typing letters, labels and memos. Printing off tax forms.

I learned a lot about taxes.

The management communication skills could be better.

My co-workers were great.

If you're a person who enjoys a really fast-paced environment, always staying busy, and enjoys working a lot, then this is the place for you. Great place to grow if you can manage to keep up.

I was only a co-op student but they gave me a lot of feed back on what to do to get to where I want to go. Without a designation it's difficult getting into Welch LLP or maybe that's just my rotten luck.
