Watched some great employees leave in various ways. Sad they no longer really have any long time workers. I really missed a few older sprayers that showed us the ropes and a consenter or two. Only long time employees I can think of are managers.  Which tells you all you need to know. I did have strong relationships with my co-workers on the same level as me. Wish I could rate my co-workers (sprayers) a 5 out of 5.

I will say with all the overtime you get spraying you can pay off student loans pretty fast. I gave 1 star for benefits because I was a seasonal worker so I didn't get any. 2 Stars for management because I do not feel mine had patience. Though oddly enough the owner was very kind and outgoing. 

For work life balance I give a 2. Being a sprayer is very feast or starve situations. When its hot you bank those checks. When its wet for long periods of time you wonder if you will ever work again.

Buy the way I had to pay for my safety gear? The only thing I got free was my hard hat, gloves, and glasses. They make you buy their coveralls and they put their label on it.

I worked there for a several years. I would say as a sprayer the job is fine. 12 hour days and you work till it rains. I switched divisions/became a full time employee and it was ok for a while. My manager and I did not have a great relationship. I felt alone and pretty much taught myself how to do what I did. I did invite them out with me but they never showed up. I felt kinda casted aside/replaced well I still worked there, making my last year there kinda miserable. The benefits and RRSPs aren’t bad, but I was underpaid. They have fancy trucks though, but I would rather drive a truck that has seen better days and feel wanted, than replaceable. If you like working outside they have lots of different jobs you can apply for. I would say short term a great place to work, long term no I would not recommend. 

I started with WCES in April 2022 as a Utility Maintenance Coordinator. With my previous experience doing this type of work I felt my experience was well compensated. I was initially provided with a lot of company gear and equipment to make me feel welcomed and appreciated.

Management was always there and answered the phone when I called with questions or concerns.

The only negative thing I have to say is that the extended time away from home started to get to me, but being compensated for travel and a daily food allowance, made it a pretty minor inconvenience. The 10-4 shift really wasn't that bad and management was always flexible when I asked for time off.

Overall a great place to work and I would highly recommend it!

I worked as a patroller for West Country for almost a year. Having prior experience with the patrolling work I felt my skills and experience was well compensated and the wages were very fair. 

Management was always approachable and treated me with respect. I was provided with top notch equipment and PPe was provided whenever needed. The group I was a part of had great morale and everyone got along which was great. 

The only reason I left was to pursue another position with the ability to be gone more often. Besides that this is a great place to work.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Small business atmosphere. The ability to accomplish things without that big corporate entity standing in the way. Very personable owners. If you are a Swiss Army knife person, this is the place for you. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Probably lack of pay. They don’t really pay people that well

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
In the office as well as the field

The company as a hole is great. Lots of opportunities to do different jobs day to day, some examples are herbicide sprayer juring the summer months steaming in the winter, helicopter work in the fall and the possibility of out of town for work. Winter months sometimes are spent sitting doing nothing because it's not cold enough but overall recommend working here if you like doing something new every other day

Typically show up around 5:45am, get ready for work and head out to sites, Leave the area around 5 or 6 pm and have the rest of the day off.
You never knew the day ahead if you were working or not unless it was raining or snowing so it made waking up and getting ready at 4 or so rather tedious.

The job sounded cool. And on good days working with the right people it was. BUT, I found there was poor communication between employees and managers, you're away for long periods, no stand by pay for rain days when you can't work and just sit in a hotel, poor wages for the job even with all certifications. 
At times I felt unsafe due to a very slack drug use tolerance.

A typical day at work consists of getting up early in the morning, safety meeting at 7 am after than driving to for an hour or so. the job requires a lot of walking carrying a gas sniffing machine which approximately weight 15 pounds. lots of driving.

Worked away from home for extended periods of time usually at about 80 hours a week. Could be a decent summer job to make some money but management is awful and consider employees all replaceable.
