Putting an emphasis on cost savings is great.  We all need to run things efficiently and with an eye on cost savings.  However, when you put foreman’s bonuses based off how much money they save, you create an environment where they pinch pennys and make up false cost savings to report to Calgary.  This often comes at the expense and functionality of the company.  Save $3 a day on chemical here but report a cost savings of $20,000 a year to Calgary.  Save money on a winter coat or rolls of tape to save a couple hundred dollars but in the end when the well freezes and we have a steam truck out we end up wasting way more money that Calgary doesn’t hear about.

Not a good place to work.  Management does not care about workers and if you have a concern they don’t want to hear it.  Just do what your told and shut up.  Focused on cost savings to the point where we can’t get a roll of tape to insulate a well.  Meanwhile they blow tons of money on poor decisions.  

I have only been employed at Whitecap for about a week but so far its has been a great experience. I have been greeted by friendly staff and any questions that I have had have been answered quickly and professionally.

I really enjoyed my time here as an office assistant.  There was fantastic work ethic and a very professional atmosphere.  Everyone working there was a fantastic role model.

drive out check wells, make sure they were running and making fluid. Assist junior operators with any problems they had. My fellow co works were very good to work with, we worked as a team and helped each other out.

I feel it was a great place to learn new technologies and processes. Lots of amazing people are employed by them. Very strong engineering division .and the production leadership was a joke for the most part

Working at Whitecap was an awesome experience. Everyone is so helpful and wants to help any young people/students learn, and the culture is incredible. No oil company I'd rather spend time at.

The people there are friendly, helpful. They hold company events. You get work everyday. You can learn from experienced people and they are patient to help you.

Company treated employees fairly well, and are making moves to be long term players in industry.  Some managers not qualified for their jobs and stifle anyone who they feel threatened by. 

Start off with safety meeting, then a review on any breakdowns through the night.
Work Through maintenance Pms and critical path work.
