Williams & McDaniel Property Management

Williams and McDaniel is a boutique style management company with an emphasis on customer service.  As a building manager I work closely with both the property manager and our head office to provide our residents with the best customer service experience. I am the face of the company to our residents. 
Duties include property walkthroughs, cleaning, answering phones, dealing with resident requirements, bankings, rentals, paperwork, and coordinating contractors where needed. I have a certain amount of autonomy when dealing with issues and, if it is something outside my purview, management is just a phone call away to assist. 
We are paid well with a monthly bonus and investments are matched, from that bonus, into a pension plan. Salaries are commensurate with experience and size of location managed.  The company is growing in leaps and bounds and there is much room for advancement.  
Williams and McDaniels' motto is Service.Committment.Integrity. we aspire to achieve, and maintain, said motto by working as a team. We have twice yearly seminars which are customer service and team building oriented.
It is great to work with a company that cares for their employees as much as their residents. I love my job, enjoy working with people, and have great respect and admiration for Williams and McDaniel.

When people speak about Above & Beyond the first thing that comes to mind is Williams and McDaniel the company I am fortunate enough to work for. They have faith in their employees and provide us with the tools  to be successful in our positions. Over the past few years  Williams and McDaniel has doubled in size and continued growth is in the cards going forward. Even with all this growth they have not lost sight in their core values and what is important, Service. Commitment. Integrity are the words the company lives by.  it can be very hectic and stressful at times, but if you are a hard worker and want to be valued, Williams & McDaniel is definitely the place to succeed in your career. Each team member, no matter the position, is just as important as any other, so everyone is properly and continually trained and provided support and opportunities for growth. 

Your typical day at work isn’t like most, you control your own day, which is great, but also isn’t because your manager will make it seem as if you are in control but then tear you apart when specific things are not done. 
I learned that no matter what you do, it will never be good enough. 
Management are very condescending, they hold meetings and speak about you, they aren’t communicative, they expect more of you then you are able to give.
Head office has high expectations, if you do not meet them, they will fire you. 
Hardest part of the job, they expect you to do things on your own with no help and are upset if you need help. 
The most enjoyable part of the job is creating good relationships with residents.
Do not be lead by their “live in” description, you are still paying the rent, it is just automatically taken off your monthly pay.

What is the best part of working at the company?
There is no best part about working at this company. They are ruthless. They degrade you. They insult you and they never patch you on the back for anything. Nothing is ever good enough for these people.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They’re not a supportive company to the building managers they never defend the building managers, and they constantly put more work on them and less pay

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Management treat people with respect, never thanked them or anything. All they constantly do is yell.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
When I run the buildings, everything is fine until management comes in and insults you and put you down and degrade you

Great people, good team spirit. No one has to work by themselves. Management is very friendly, knowledgeable, responsible, and caring. They are always open to career development discussions.
Culture is one of diversity with ethical standards
My typical day consists of answering emails, texts & calls, asking loads of questions to determine suitability of properties for applicants.
 I drive to various locations to meet prospective residents and present apartments for their consideration. I complete applications & collect necessary information for submission to head office for approval
My hours are varied, you must be flexible. There are lots of evening & weekend appointments

It’s a pleasant surprise to work with a great team and leadership at Williams & McDaniel Pty Mngmt. Some reviews online got me cautious when I started but that has completely changed after my first few days at work. You’re free to be creative in your role, encouraged to share your thoughts and suggestions and ypu get training from industry leaders who have done built the company from the ground up. The diversity in the office is great, and the team collaborates in many projects that promotes team work. 

The one management woman who seemed so nice at the interview and when I first started turned from a miracle to a curse. 

Lots of head games with residents.

This one doesn't pay the current rate for their unit so don't do repairs for them hoping they would get fed up and move out so we could turn around and rent their apartment out for more.

I know this family from temple make sure you keep them happy.

So many complaint phone calls over parking.

Being asked to go to buildings I wasn't meant to manage to do repairs for favoured residents.

Painting a unit is the worst part of this job aside from dealing with the management team.
