The Opportunity

We are seeking an entrepreneurial, strategic, and hands-on Finance Controller / Finance Manager to lead and strengthen our finance function during a period of rapid growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a critical role in financial planning, cash flow management, operational decision-making, financial reporting, and process improvement. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building systems, driving business performance, and partnering with leadership to support long-term growth.

The successful candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, can work independently with minimal supervision, and thrives in a company where initiative, ownership, and adaptability are valued.

Key Responsibilities

Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.
Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
Analyze profitability by customer, product, channel, and business unit.
Monitor inventory, working capital, receivables, payables, and operating expenses.
Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and cash flow.
Maintain and optimize financial systems, reporting processes, and controls.
Support fundraising, lender reporting, and strategic growth initiatives.
Collaborate with international suppliers, manufacturing partners, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
CPA designation strongly preferred; MBA considered an asset.
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
Strong financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management skills.
Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, management reporting, and business performance measurement.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
Fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin is required.
Experience in food, beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), manufacturing, or distribution industries strongly preferred.
Experience with inventory management, cost accounting, and supply chain finance is an asset.
Experience supporting a high-growth, entrepreneurial, or founder-led business is highly desirable.
